Farmhouses are broken
Bleasdale farmhouse: I found the ghost room upstairs. I got some evidence and a hunt started. I ran downstairs into the hallway and wtf how was it downstairs? It legit spawned downstairs while the ghost room was upstairs.

Grafton farmhouse: Ghost room was in that one big bedroom. Get some evidence around in the middle. Almost all activity was in that room, oH n0 a hunt started! So I ran out of the room but wtf it was right beside me. + where was the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ grace period? So I think I am not sure but on grafton the ghost spawned outside the ghost room... And no both these matches weren't on professional.

Yes, ghosts can hunt outside of their ghost room. That's normal.

As for the gracing period... When you saw the ghost beside you, was it hunting you, or was it not moving at all? Because the grace period doesn't prevent a ghost from spawning/appearing, it only prevents them from moving.

There was a update am pretty sure removing insta kills. Also normally you can no longer see the ghost during it's grace period. I was running so I couldn't see. Though I do know in grafton there was definitly dots. I even saw it with the naked eye. As for bleasdale that was a few months ago. Also in Grafton all activity was in the same room. Nowhere else was any activity. If ghosts can spawn outside there rooms that makes some pretty unfair gameplay. Especially on willow street house when you're in one of them bedrooms.

That's why you need to figure out an escape route before a ghost can potentially start a hunt. Be careful not to put yourself in a bad position by going too far away from a safe/hiding spot.

Also a little tip: place motion sensors on walls. It's a good way to know when the ghost leaves the room and which area it is currently in.

EDIT: Also, yeah, as Sonicle said, smudge sticks can be used to repel the ghost for a few seconds during a hunt (if it's in the radius of the smudge stick, that is). Make sure that you have a lighter in your inventory, otherwise you won't be able to use them.

Grace periods have been in the game for a long long time (possible from the start) the update that I think you are referring to is where ghosts no longer move at the start of a hunt, this was so that when players ran away, the ghost wouldn't just move with them and instantly kill them when the grace period ended.

I recently had a hallway ghost where the ghost spent its entire time 2 rooms away. It happens.

There has been a lot of debate whether or not a ghost can spawn outside its ghost room for the first hunt, I've personally never seen it. After the first hunt, it can. It's not unfair, just bring a smudge stick.
Kk. Thanks for the tips :P

What I noticed on these two maps is that the (at least our) ghosts changed their ghost rooms quite frequently. We stopped to play on these maps, because our last 2 ghosts changed their rooms 4 and 5 times in 12 and 15 minutes. Additionally, they almost never started their hunts in their changed room, but completely somewhere else. Did anyone else have such issues?

i did notice on the bigger farm house the ghost room was upstairs then after a hunt it moved downstairs for the rest of the game, strange because it wasn't a difficulty where the ghost can change rooms after hunts, unless it roamed upstairs and stayed upstairs for half the match

I wouldn't really call this a bug. It's just a roaming ghost. Keep better tabs on where the ghost is as much as you can. Sound Sensors and Motion Detectors are really great for this.
