Ouija Board Changes?

After the December 10th patch, my team and I found the Ouija board and was bringing it to the living room. As I was going to place it down (not sure if anyone else can mess with it while I'm carrying it) the planchette spawned, the Ouija board glowed and exploded while I was still holding it and the ghost hunted immediately.

Has anyone else experienced this? I did not ask any questions and I don't recall hearing anyone else talking in game.

I'm not sure what that's all about, all I know is you must say goodbye now. So maybe someone tried touching it before you could say goodbye and end your turn? I don't know

this is insane but it's possible that you or someone who talked to ouija didn't say goodbye

This happened to me 2 games in a row. Found the board immediately, brought it to the front door without turning it on and was hunted immediately.

Not sure if this is by design now but I think they don't want you moving it at all from what I can tell

From the planchette spawn to the hunt, it all took place in about 5 seconds, we hadn't even asked a question.

I guess your team was talking to themselves and ouija picked up few words from the conversation and it didn't received any answer.

I walked with the board a couple of times without issues. Did you already activate the board before taking it to somewhere else?

PS: the front door trick does not seem to work anymore ;)

OK I tested the board 2 times and here's my research:

• After activating the board you cannot move away from it (it explodes and triggers hunt)
  
• Person who activated the board is responsible for talking to it and saying goodbye at the end

You need to properly say "goodbye" in order for the ghost not to get offended. You'll see if it's successful if the response is also "goodbye". You can't stray too far from the Ouija Board or it will explode if you fail to say your farewells before leaving. If the board explodes, it seems to trigger an immediate hunt.

The board also explodes if you ask "Hide and Seek"? which also causes a hunt after the countdown. I suppose it's to stop you from repeatedly triggering hunts to troll teammates.

My teammate asked the Ouija a question, said goodbye and walked away. 5 minutes later I walked up, picked the board up and asked where the entity was. The board turned red, exploded, hunt triggered, immediate death. Upon which my teammate walked to my body to take a picture and noticed that he could see my dead body and my spirit body. I could not see the spirit realm so we chalked this up to a glitch and headed out. As we headed out of the house another hunt triggered, the heartbeat got louder and I got the hands across my screen again simulating death, just to watch another characters body fall from the position I was standing in..... My partner and I laughed our way into the truck where my twice murdered spirit pushed the button on the truck. I didn't lose my equipment after footing the bill for the entire lobby....

If you use any of the cursed items with really low sanity it will trigger a hunt and make the item not work any more. board and mirror will break and pins will all go into doll. not sure what happens with cards

Had a bug after Ouija Board exploded, and we survived a hunt, where I was unable to pick new items up. Upon trying to cycle through what I had in my inventory, there was a quick glitch of the planchette floating and appearing near the top of my screen every time I scrolled.

I picked up the board, didn't activate it, and carried it toward the front door (lol) but on the way it burnt up and broke apart like you described and the ghost hunted immediately. Got a good scare that time. Amazingly we all survived.
