I'm definitely not a pro like he is, but it's not hard to learn a thing or two.
Hiding is definitely possible during a hunt, I do this successfully in nearly every hunt that happens. Turn all electronics off, mute your microphone and ensure you're hidden in a position that the ghost is unlikely to see you, even if they walk near you.
The game has not gotten much harder since the hunt overhaul came out, and when that came out people were dying left and right.. until they adjusted to how the game works again. You likely just have to do the same. Ever since I re-learned the hunting mechanics and some new hiding spots that don't get blocked by boxes, just like before the hunting overhaul, I rarely die to a hunt.
Only if I am doing something stupid or I get caught off guard does the ghost have a good chance to kill me, and the same is true for most players tbh.
The ghost abilities and traits are not different between difficulty, the difference between Nightmare and the lower difficulties is all in the evidence and hunting mechanics.
CJ is Phasmo’s Lead Artist, and he can make Suggestions to the other two, but ultimately the game is going in the direction DK (the primary, and originally sole developer) wants it to go.
If you feel the game is too difficult now, that’s an issue to bring up with DK, specifically with evidence to back it up (since how can he know what to adjust if you don’t provide some tangible data for him to work with?), as otherwise it’s the equivalent to shouting at a cloud. Nothing happens and you look foolish.
At the end of the day, this is an early access game. By buying in early you automatically agree that you are willing to take the risk that the final product ends up different from what you enjoyed early, so it’s on you to either adapt to the changing difficulty or move on to a new title.
Or just don't play Nightmare or Pro lmfao
2. You can absolutely hide, but the number of hiding spots decreases with difficulty to, you know, actually try and be difficult. The ghosts aren't (nearly as) dumb anymore, so simply following the basic rules of the game (avoiding LoS, electronics off, shutting up, etc) and having common sense will allow you to survive significantly more often.
3. At best, Nightmare mode was built for content creators in mind, as well as the more hardcore players in general. The rest of the game is still easily playable for casual players though, as long as you can adapt, which shouldn't be that hard considering how limited the game mechanics still are.
