Is Obake bugged?
I just had a Nightmare game with an Obake, and every time it touched a door or light switch, it left fingerprints evidence, but none of them ever had the 6 fingers

It's not exactly guaranteed to show up everytime, mine took legit 10 hunts for them. It really depends on your luck.

It's very rare, probably about 10% per fingerprint but the exact probability is unknown. The Obake also has a lower chance of actually leaving fingerprints and a random chance they disappear more quickly.
Even after like 20 touches there's still a decent change you won't see it a single time. That's just regular randomness.
Though if it actually showed up consistently for a dozen interactions it's highly suspicious if it also left fingerprints every time. It's supposed to have a 25% chance to not leave one.

Ah, wasn't aware it was a random chance to leave the 6 fingered hand, but yeah, it must've touched every door in Tanglewood's foyer, including both sides of the closets, every time it left a fingerprint.

They updated it so that ghosts always leave fingies now.

RNG-based behaviors do this.

You'll have a string where the ultra-rare chance happens every single time. And you'll have a string where the high chance option never happens at all.

When you encounter it, it feels broken, but there's always a chance for such things to happen.
