Onryo fear of fire

Thus far doesn't seem to work like intended as I watched the ghost walk through a lit candle during a hunt. Also spawned despite candles in the ghost room. Also moves incredibly fast so that if it see's you are dead.

I don't think anyone knows how that fear of fire thing works yet. My guess is that it will avoid lit candles and lit candles can prevent it from spawning in certain places for a hunt but once it's hunting a candle can't be used as a "You shall not pass!"

Or it could be as simple as it can never blow out a candle so if one of your objective is ghost to blow out a candle and can't seem to get that objective (It's an easy one too) it's probably an Onryo.

Currently just standing at the door and extinguishing your candle a few times will make any Onryo hunt even at 100% sanity though.

Most of the ghost descriptions are flavor text. They aren't gonna work exactly as the text says. Most of the text lies like the Wraith's text saying it floats and goes through walls when it doesn't.

Onryo's have the same base speed as other ghosts.

Onyo's can early hunt if a flame is extinguished near them (even at 100% sanity) however, another active flame will prevent this from happening.

this will happen regardless its turned on and off, If you turn on and off it will still hunt you, I found that out in the forest lake map.

Sorry, I should have explained better, an active flame will prevent it from hunting early. Once your sanity drops to below 60% - this seems to be where it can normally hunt - it will hunt regardless if a lit candle is in the room or not.

From my experience, you can trigger it even if the fire or oven is not on, as soon you turn it on and off it will trigger a attack on you which it did to me in the campsite

The Onryo has the ability to hunt at high sanity when a candle or other fire/heat source is extinguished. It's weakness is that lit fires or active heat sources prevents it from using its ability to hunt early.
