The Oujia board no longer tells you their preferred room, but rather the room they are currently in. The campsite can be difficult at first because room borders are less defined than within a house and some locations are less obvious, like the lakeshore behind the house.
It never told you the preferred room. It always told you the room the ghost was in.
Yeah, you can ask what is its favorite room, and it will respond where it is. Asking "What is your favorite room" never gave you the ghost room, it gave you location of the ghost. You could easily test this by having motion sensors check when the ghost left the room and asking "What is your favorite room"
Note: The Ouija board only ever reveals the ghost's current location.
This has been tested.
"Where are you?" gives the same result as "What is your favorite room?" and both have given current location rather than preferred room/ghost room for months, probably as long as the game has been running.
Don't trust the ouija board to give you the preferred room.
The only solid evidence of which is the preferred room is the appearance of orbs. If orbs move, that means the preferred room has moved. But the ghost can literally be anywhere on the map, though it won't usually go that far from it's preferred room.
Trick is to use motion sensors and sound sensors. Set them up and observe where the ghost frequests. Setup cameras and dots in choke points and see if you can catch it. Go around with voicebox and try to get response.
Once you learn how the new map works it's relatively easy, one just needs to learn where the pathway "rooms" are. Hint: look at the lights. Each light network is its own room.
