It's not like his skills magically grew with his bank account.
And the beta is where he tests stuff before it goes live. All I'm saying is that people complaining about lack of updates would complain about buggy updates if he did what they demand.
Why are you here then? This is an Early Access game, which is essentially a Beta.
There's more to life than more content. Go play something else in the meantime.
Is this your first Beta experience?
I don't quite get why folks don't play the beta to be honest.
It's already Early Access so it's basically a beta in and of itself.
Every single day they release a new update to fix stuff or tweak stuff.
This is great because it's good to make sure what you have right now works, before pushing out new maps and such.
If they released a new map, folks would just play it for hours at a time, then a day later complain they're bored again
Pretty much this. I know I'd rather have a stable game before the content starts coming out.
Plus, it gives the dev time to make a list of content to strive for, then add at set intervals.
How do you know he's a "new" dev and not one that made a new steam account and pay steam 100 dollars to get green light. Seems a thing on steam to do. Let's be honest here, 100 dollars is nothing compared to the income they get for a small game. Look Stranded Deep, same story, 6 years in development and still in the state they left it 5 years ago with some added giagantic monsters in it which no one even dare to think that came in that game. Totally nonsense. Now this game is a bit better but who knows what is going on behind the scene. And let's be honest here: like i said before, what else we can expect from this game... not much more, maybe more evidences to look for, harder ghosts, new maps? all things a player is not really waithing for because same thing in a new jacket. So i won't expect this game to grow anymore. This is it.
I agree with Death March and just because i saw this many times before with games that are now nothing worth, Stranded Deep, Take on Mars for example.
If you do some investigation about 1 of those developer(s) then you will see what i mean.
It's not the first time they did it. And that's where it comes from. At first, looks good, many play it, many buy it. After no money is flowing in, development goes slow. Tweaks here and there for months. And that will lead to people that complain and so on. We also see that the level a dev is on steam is hidden, now why do you think that option is available to them and why steam agrees with such a thing.. Here's the answer: Money. Simple as that is.
There is no excuse.
Then why should i buy anymore early access games, let it be that i can still count the games i bought on 2 hands, oh lucky me :) I already knew these things gonna happen. My posts are open to read so go ahead. Started in 2015 and the issues already started in 2015 and now in 2021, still a thing. Sure there are developers that are great like subnautica, those really knows what early access means.
This game, people can cheat which is against the steam rules. When there is no money flowing in anymore, the dev will add a ban option like vac ban or game ban or whatever so people gonna buy it again. Same with GTA V.
Being a dev and get millions of a game is great. Good for him, but being dedicated to the game is not a thing. Fixing a couple of bugs here and there is not dedicated but more of a thing like : watch, i am still busy with the game. If i make something in unity and script it like a flashlight, how the hell can that be broken when updating a new map in it. There is no way, or falling through the map, or missing colliders all of a sudden while in that area is nothing to do or to script, why is that collider suddenly missing. All things that make no sense, for me it's more to get some "content" for in the next bugfixes section.
Who is Daniel?... Bootlicking? You sound like you're in an imaginary war, keep it to yourself. I just think the game is fun and personally, I'd like working alone.
Daniel is a the developer and he made a really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ vr game called Mass Exodus Redux which he also stopped working on. He has stopped promoting the games on his twitch channel in fact just stopped everything all together.
The only thing he has said is he is considering removing the game from early access and is considering removing the game all together. His motivation was strictly money and now he is a millionaire.
It would have made more sense to refer to him as DKnighter instead of Daniel for familiarity sake. But assuming that's true, I don't think it's fair to assume he's gonna abandon Phasmophobia as well just because he's considering removing an old science experiment. Everyone does start somewhere after all. But hey only time will tell. I think what matters now is that Phasmo is good fun even in it's current state and it's promising that he's updating the beta frequently. I mean surely he wouldn't be wasting time fixing the foundation just to run away rich and leave all the hard work behind right?... If you're rich and working on a passion project at your own pace, it seems pretty win-win to me. Sure it seems like some people on here are unhappy with the lack of epic new maps every month or 2, but that's only because people are more likely to voice negativity rather than positivity. The giant quiet constant population the game seems to keep seems to speak about how many people do actually still (even currently) enjoy the game.
What?... I barely understood your initial reply at all. I thought you were even replying to the wrong person by mistake. I wish you'd stop indirectly making me have to flood a positive thread with pointless responses. Game is fun and I got other stuff to do while it's being developed and have already gotten my money's worth anyway.
Oh come on, i read your profile and it says you will delete negative messages and all like that but you reply to negative comments on a negative way aswell that are not even pointed to you.
I don't even believe a thing what you typed. Probably a bad day? i guess so. If you are so happy with all, why so negative comment to another negative comment about the game.
The thing you said is that you don't care. Which tells me you clearly understood.
If you are out for closing of this topic , just say so:) It isn't that hard
Please stop harrasing others with making false conclusions here about others. If you are so happy with this game, what are you doing here. We talk about the game and the development which is allowed to do so, what you are doing is not allowed and unsupportive and therefore reported, sorry..
