1. you need windows 10 for voice recognition. so thats for inc
for mickey cann i just say.
2. if you tab out of the game and tabbing back into the game breaks that the voice recognition aswell. there are 2 fixxes, either you restart the game and dont tab out again or dont tab back into the game, click the game icon in your taskbar instead. that fixxes it, other then that is there a voice recognition guide pinned by the developer where you can go through the steps.
i think the beta branch supports win 8.1 for voice recognition now. but since i dont use win 8.1 nor play i on the beta branch, can i not confirm it but i seen it somewhere in the voice recognition guide.
I never tab out of the game so it's not that.
I'm on Windows 10 so I doubt the beta branch will fix it. And like I said it used to work, but I took a break from the game, it got updates, I came back to it today to play with a friend who just bought it and in game voice chat is now completely busted.
all i know is that you need win 10 and if tabbing out breaks voice recognition until you hit the game icon.
iunno try window mode, tab out and go back in via taskbar game icon? cause for me works voice still fine ._. if anything can you just redo the steps from the voice recognition guide =/
and oh wait, you say game voice chat o.o? so peoples understand you anymore good ingame? changed anything on the mic settings?
i have a cheap headset tho ... i can for example speak fine to my friends via ingame voicechat but, as soon i use radio am i too quiet. my mic is already on 100% tho xD. so whenever i play with my friends use i ingame voice and for radio discord push to talk x3.
tho on my end is it clearly the quality of my headset, not the games fault.
For example if discord takes control of the microphone because you joined a voice chat, it won't let other applications use it. Now the odd thing is that most applications both can access the microphone at the same time.
Phasmophobia seems to be one of those games where if you have discord open and in a voice channel, it will not work in game, vice versa, but this isn't always the case. Sometimes you'll never have an issue.
So if you use another program that uses your microphone, try turning it off and see if it allows in-game to work.
i negate that. like i wrote above you. because of radio chat issues use i discord as push to talk to replace the radio ingame. discord breaks not my voice recognition. the spirit box still hears me fine and the audio options still say aswell "we heard you" i play phasmophobia like that since i own it. so its definitly not discord which causes that. (atleast not on my operating system)
Fascinating. The reason why I came to the conclusion I did was several people in my group can't run discord voice while using in-game communication, but other games work fine. Other forums seems to agree.
Your situation is bizarre that your radio doesn't work, but your spirit box does.
