Supposedly its supposed to initiate a hunt when you leave its line of sight once it "teleports" to you with its special ability. So having the EMF on would have shown it teleported as it will have an EMF of 3-5 once it does that.
And I am guessing that breaking line of sight from it with the door when you were checking for fingerprints is what did it caused it to start its hunt.
Still cool to see it in action.
It seems there's been more information released since the game came out. Even the wiki has more up to date info than before when I played. We all just going off what we had at the time and how we thought the game worked. All we had on release was data mined info on the banshee.
I'll just say that I do think at one point the banshee did actually teleport as we would sometimes get EMF 3-5 readings in the van back in the day when the banshee seemingly teleported to the van when it was just in the room with another player. Unless the banshee wasn't working as intended before and its "Mark" that it threw down was giving off the readings but the banshee didn't know how to get to the target.
Also, I've never really heard it "walking" to its targeted location. So I'm not sure if it makes noise or if its just so rare that its hard to look out for and test. :\
