Photos during hunt not working?
It used to work so not sure if its a new update but when I take a photo of the ghost when its hunting its coming up blank and shows nothing there, is this a bug? Its not even a fuzzy photo its just like you have taken a random photo. Thanks

Now, when hunting, the ghost most often looks like a shadow and flickers. Sometimes it is not visible at all, only the approach of a heartbeat. This is great, because the unknown inspires more fear! It's better than when a ghost walks around in the form of a ridiculous non-scary model of a corpse.

But I can't agree with you, sometimes I get great photos while hunting.

Ghost pictures during hunts still work, but they are a big gamble and it is not recommended to get the ghost pic from it unless you are desperated.

Ghosts do blink during hunt, to make it more difficult to get a photo reward. The Phantom's blinking is more severe and has more no-visible time spaces than other ghosts do. This is because it is its weakness to get photographed. But this also gives him away if you have a keen eye.

It doesn't matter if the ghost decides to manifest complete, or just as a shade. The blinking thing is the same.

The old classic of taking a picture while it's walking towards you, smudging it, and diving into a locker or closet does still work. It's much harder these days due to the camera glitching out and the ghost sometimes being a shadow, as well as lights dimming and flickering instead of just flicking on and off at 100% Lux.

Apparently, you're talking about newbies. Because if you have experience, it's not so difficult to take pictures. For example, in a long corridor, you put candles on the floor in the direction of the ghost's movement. You take a camera, take smudge sticks and a lighter in your hands. We don't need a lantern, since candles are lit in case the lights go off, and you have already thought out your retreat to the closet and know where to run. When the ghost appears, to go back to face the ghost and take a photo as long as you have time. You can move backwards with your back to have time to take three photos. When the ghost is close, you throw the camera on the floor, take out the smudge sticks, throw it at the ghost (or just run through the ghost with the incense) and then run away to another floor or where you decided to hide. If the photo didn't work out, then repeat again.

Nope.

I play this game a very long time, and it is still a gamble if you get the picture or not. If you have a good eye and good reflexes, you can raise the chances significally, yes. But it is never recommendable unless you are very desperated because you need one for the objective and the ghost is just not wanting to spook you.

A "If the photo didn't work out, then repeat again.", like you said is not the way me and my friends are playing the game.

Me, and my friends I play with, are going always for the full 40$ photo reward if possible. Which means every of the first 10 counting pictures of the journal is tabu to take a gamble on, and you would get scolded by doing so from everyone in my team. Any messed up picture will ruin a perfect score (only with a fingerprint ghost you can compensate 1 messed up picture). With the third camera, or the last 5 pictures, yes, you can try to achieve the ghost picture objective during the hunt, if, like I said, you are desperated. Else, always go for a spook and a 100% safe ghost picture.

For some ghost activities it is the same. Like door moving. This one is bugged often, so you will most likely ruin one picture by trying to get it. Rolling bottles and cans, you have to get the point they were standing before. If you do it wrong, a picture gets wasted easily. So we usually avoid these too. There are plenty of other good and reliable picture sources around to fill up the ghost journal.

You probably have a great team of perfectionists, but I'm still glad that I'm not on your team =) We are used to enjoying the game, taking pictures of a ghost in a moment of danger, running from one closet to another while hunting, and so on.

That's absolutely fine to enjoy the game the way you want to play it :)

We are just a very routined team that has a clear goal in mind. Yet we have a lot of fun goofying around with the ghost as well. But in terms of collecting evidences and photos we are very well organised and not taking unnecessary risks.

Though I also like to it to return to the ghost room collecting evidence when the ghost is absence while the hunt is still going on. It's a thrilling thing you can do if you know it can return any second.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
