1: It will lightly open one or both doors as it walks by, This is what you're used to; It does this when it's searching for you and does not know where you are. You can hold one of the closet/locker doors to help protect yourself from this. This is how it used to always be, whether the ghost knew you were there or was just searching.
and 2: It will stand right in front of the locker/closet and it will yank both closet/locker doors open 100% of the way, bypassing any attempt to hold it shut. It will do this only if the ghost knows you are there. It cannot do this unless it knows you are there.
There is no inbetween; If it does not know, it has a chance to open both partially, which is what you seem to be expecting; if it does know, it will yank it open and kill you, which is what you're experiencing and is the feature that was added so you can't just cheese the ghost by pulling the doors shut repeatedly even when it knows you're there.
You might think you're being quiet, but from the sounds of it, you've got some mic static going on or ambient noises in your room like a fan that are giving you away. In solo play the mic is always hot whether you've got push to talk enabled or not; And it's mic activity that the ghost cares about. You can throw things around, have EMF/spirit box on, have your flashlight on, etc and the ghost wont care, But if you speak, or make noise over the mic, it will find you.
