No beta option anymore?
I've only played the beta version and now out of nowhere its only showing the regular one on my steam. When i click on beta options under properties the only option I have is None:

Any Ideas what to do?

They recently went to a closed beta format. It'll just be the main build for everyone else while they test it there.

Wonder why they felt that needed to change.

From the discord:
"Beta is being overhauled to be a closed beta system. The general idea will be that everyone will receive content at the same time rather than some having it faster than others. Updates at the Devs discretion will be tested by private groups rather than a public branch, and could last for around 2 weeks before being released.

There are no applications for the closed beta, so please don’t ask. Testers will be selected by the Devs based on their own requirements."
As for the reasoning, It's likely to get a more focused stream of actual bug reports than of people screaming their heads off because they opted into the beta version and "OMG THERE ARE BUGS!"

So the guy can't handle a few kids screaming "OMG THERE ARE BUGS!" ?
Sounds professional...

I think its less of can't handle kids screaming, then not wanting to when he doesn't have to. Lets not lie, some people over react and claim something is completely game breaking, when its not.

Pretty stupid choice to remove it but hey. It is what it is. Nothing any of us can do about it.

Strangely salty comment given that you lost absolutely nothing.

Especially true since you actually Gain more people to play with since players won’t be split between Beta and Non-Beta Clients, meaning a larger pool of players and games to join. Less segregation of the playerbase is a good thing in this case.

Except those we like and do get access to the beta?

Those that get access to the beta likely aren't going to care about "new content" as much as squashing bugs and finding ways to replicate them.

It's kind of that mentality right there that likely led to the beta going closed in the first place. It was never meant to be a place where people got to see what was coming next, but rather a tool for the devs to get focused feedback on what needs to be fixed before it goes to the masses. Most people just logged into it hoping for sneak peaks and complained in an unconstructive manner when they found things weren't as stable as they were used to.

More like "except those we pay to squash bugs and those we trust to report bugs in a constructive way while playing in a bug-testing focused manner.".

You're pretty hard focused on the content; And unfortunately, You and people like you are pretty much exactly why the beta is private now.

They need people reporting bugs, Constructively. Not people whining and complaining that there are bugs in the beta. Not people shouting at the forum that the game is bugged without actually elaborating what bug or how. Not people discovering major bugs/exploits like the 'Show us' thing and then sitting on them hoping it doesn't get fixed so they can keep abusing it. Not people who are just playing the beta for early content who never report bugs.

They want the beta to be about Bug Testing, The way it should be. Not about early access to content.

And those same people that report bugs now, weren't reporting bugs then? It is cutting out people that were interested in testing out content, who, yes, may or may not file actual bug reports. The more people, the more easily found and widespread exploits are. That is a given, and somehow to you not constructive? If anything it should signal to the devs it needs to be fixed asap. Like that one time when there were counter top/curio exploiters in every match and dozens of postings/tutorials on how to do it.

The dev wants to go private? Sure that's fine. But don't try to justify it with such a flimsy excuse.

If the main branch is so stable and finished, might as well make it 1.0 right? It's totally not a WIP right? Punishing the entire community because some of the community are jackasses, is just dumb. I think that is bottomline really. Plus that bit about don't even bother trying to apply to the closed beta.

You DO realize that you're already in the Beta Program, and that tens of thousands of people are already reporting bugs in the wider population without *needing* to be in the Beta-of-the-Beta, right?

That's...you know...the whole reason Phasmophobia is in Early Access.

probaby did that to build up the population on the main server cause good god its player count was low and the few their were no mics, trolls and AFKs
