Phasmophobia Open Mic?

I know this question might've been asked alot but I can't find it anywhere. Is there a way to just keep your mic open so you don't need to push to talk?

Go into PC settings in game, its all the way at the bottom

before you join a session, go into the settings and scroll all the way down until you see the option

And just HOW is it listening? I've already read replies saying that it does, but what I don't quite understand is how does it take in the information when you don't have PTT, does it still use that information during hunts?

What PTT does is transmit your mic to your teammates, but the game itself always captures sound in your mic regardless. As a way of testing it, use the Spirit Box; if it shows "Nothing detected" it means the game detected your voice, even without PTT.
