My level went down?

Yesterday I was playing with friends and had reached level 103 with around 2K in the bank and double the amount of each equipment items purchased already that I would need for an individual round (ex: max two EMF per round and I had 4, max 4 motion sensors and I had 8 etc). Today I signed on and noticed I am now a level 13, with only $500 and barely any purchased equipment.. I played a couple rounds and leveled to 15, but still my money and previous levels and bought things are gone... What gives ? Good way to turn people off this game.

Shouldn't have played with randoms (hackers). They ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up your save and there is no way for you to restore your lost progress.

yesterday i was at level 12 or some when suddenly my pc shut down, today i opened phasmophobia again and now i am at level 0 and have no money at all, nice game

"Most"? You could have played with one random person who happened to be a hacker and he changed up your stats.

Game is in early access. It's not game's fault. Don't blame the game, blame the people paying it.

I will blame the game. It wasnt a hacker because the last i played was last night and i was playing with people i know irl. then this morning when i logged on is when my levels and items and money was gone. so it wasnt a hacker unless someone i played with weeks ago could effect my ♥♥♥♥ now.

Additionally, my bf, who was one of the people playing with me, logged onto my computer last night after i got off and my current level and money seems to be what his was when he logged on, meaning even tho he signed onto his steam and under his account, it altered my account. that also means it wasnt a hacker and is an issue with the game and not necessarily the players yall assume i game with.

Damn, that's a terrible glitch.

Hope it gets sorted, It's not been easy to just unlock intermediate, as I don't have lot of friends with this title. I can imagine the seething frustration of getting nice and leveled and losing it like that.

Nah, game's easy. It's even better when played solo, gives you a better feeling of the atmosphere. You level up very fast if you know what you're doing.

It may be easy, but its dame near 30 hours of my life, all the things I had built up, and all the money I had gone. Ease of the game doesn't make up for the amount lost.

it's early access, all of your progress is likely going to be wiped before release, multiple times.

2 possibilities. 1, you do not have separate computer accounts, so the save file is stored in the same place, and gets overwritten regardless of who's logged in to steam.

2. your BF played a public game and got hacked.

We do have seperate accounts on the computer and seperate steam accounts also. My bf only played with his irl friend too, so neither of your two choices makes sense.

You can make backups of your save game. In case you lose it, simply restore it with a few mouseclicks. You find it here:
C:\Users\*username*\AppData\LocalLow\Kinetic Games

@Remmy, It's not their fault lmao, you can't blame the player for any bugs that happen to them. I love this game, but it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ buggy as hell. It is completely the devs fault, and it's their job to fix it, but that doesn't mean I hate them nor do I hate the game, infact, it's our job to find these bugs and report them to the developer, otherwise we'd never get them fixed cause they don't know about it. Should be obvious, remmy.
