Hey all,

You know how if the ghost is hunting, you can hide from them by going to another room and close the door, etc.

What if the ghost was in ethereal form (while not hunting)? Can it pass through doors?

If no, does that mean you can "lock" the ghost in its room by closing all doors, and thus prevent it from wandering?

I don't know if all ghosts can move through doors, but I do know they can all open doors whenever they want.

Ghosts can open doors they just can't see through them so no, you can't "lock" the ghost in its room by closing all doors.

I noticed that most ghosts will leave their room when they go hunting. Even if all players are inside the haunted room, the ghost will materialize and walk outside before actively searching for victims, so it's possible to stay in the room and survive.

If they can't find anyone, they wander around randomly. Doors will not stop them.

They also walk through doors when they are not hunting and don't even need to open them. Might leave a handprint though.

I've never seen a ghost open a door while hunting. Only while in its non hunting phase will it open or close w/e doors they want. They naturally do lock the exits/entrances to the level when the hunt starts but that's about it.

Ghosts typically "phase" through doors and aren't required to open them. Any ghost type can do this. Wraiths are special because they can travel through walls which makes them a pain to deal with.

Its unconfirmed which ghost types can "see" through doors as its a hard thing to test. We've heard that the wraith doesn't see doors at all and when you die and go into spirit vision world, you'll notice all the doors in the house are gone.

Ghosts seem to have a hard time detecting players who are in closets and lockers. Though it can apparently see through them if the locker/closet is slightly ajar.

Most luck I have is when I am in the room and not in Line of Sight of the door. Usually hiding behind a desk, tool table, dresser, etc. Breaking the line of sight from the door seems to guarantee near maximum protection when in hunt phase. Ghost never seems to come into my room that I'm hiding in and can hear it walking back and forth outside during its hunts.

Will need to do solid testing on just standing in front of a door at different distances to see if all ghosts can see/hear through doors. There's even speculation still on how much ghosts can actually 'hear' players while in hunt mode.

Wraiths can move up and down through floors.
