Character Models Original or Premade?
I always wondered whether or not the devs of the game modeled the characters themselves, or used premade assets. I also thought about what it would be like if they had facial shapekeys, and implications if these models were released for stuff like SFM.

Huh, I never knew the Lobby area was something prebuilt.

I couldn't find the Character models though.

I figured the developer bought a majority of the assets. Making everything that is in the game currently is a lot of work and would take months to do. I don't think its necessarily a bad thing to buy assets and can speed things up at times. Since this game is mostly in the dark you will hardly notice similarities to other games so the dev. can get away with that. Maybe later on once they get more established will we see some custom stuff. It would be cool if there was mod. support so I can make my own map. I do feel however that the ghost need to be custom made because they all look undead and bland. The grudge girl model is a good step in the right direction although that could have been bought also.

There is alot lacking in the asset department as far as customization. The dev choose to do this project alone, which is rightfully his call, but it would have been super awesome to have had his own personal touch instead of just using premades and cutting out the animations he wasn't going to use. It's one of the things that legitimately cheapens the game, and can after a while become bland, especially if you play other games where you see those exact same assets, but maybe doing something a bit more or looking a tad bit differently.

The levels for the most part seem to be prebuilts too. It makes me wonder if that is why there are delays on new maps, if the dev is just waiting for someone else to prebuild and sell it on the unity store, or if there is legitimately something else preventing those from being added. Unfortunately where this dev may or may not be honest, its not uncommon for someone to just buy up assets, throw them all together, add a bit of lines of code, and try to call it their very own creation. I want to have faith in Phasmo, despite the incredibly slow turnover times for patches as of late, and few critical QoL additions/patches, so that is why I am still hanging around. Hopefully the dev is just swamped in work and its not another classic cut and paste kinda thing <3

That list didn't have the playermodels in them. That's the whole reason I made this thread. Sure knowing where everything else came from is cool, it's not why I made this in the first place.

It's all just Unity Assets. I think the devs should add their own models and assets when they get further into development.

90% of the stuff in this game is pre-made and even then the dev is super slow on content updates
