Can ghosts come inside the truck?

I was playing with a friend of mine, and after a ghost wrote in the book, I took it back to the truck and put it on one of the shelves. While we were talking I saw it jump around multiple times, and so did my friend. Activity spiked while this went on, though that may have been coincidence. So is this a bug, or can the ghosts actually come in the truck? This was professional asylum by the way.

From what I've gathered, there's a possibility for a ghost to get into truck on Asylum map since it's right at the door. It's a bug though.

Not supposed to happen, if it did then yeah it's a bug.

It is a really weird mechanic but if a ghost interacted with an object once it can throw it again no matter how far away it is from said ghost, including inside the truck.

This is true. I once took a cup into the truck that an Oni threw at me. Afterwards, it was thrown at me when I set it next to the camera station. I got mad so I called the Ghost a Racial Slur. At which point my poor brother with 12% sanity then got hunted.

recently had a ghost at one of the cabin maps come charging out of the house to come get me in the van. really i dont see why if they really really dont like you hiding in the van would help you hide. best part was i had a tripod watching the doorway so i just see an old lady with a sickle come stomping out while my girlfriend is laughing her ass off that i somehow ticked the ghost off from the van.

Why can't I experience things like this (rhetorical). I need to play more.

I guess I should be happy I experienced a very naughty Banshee who wanted to hunt 2-3 times the first 5 minutes even before the timer finished counting down. It was a very violent ghost that I guess I could have witnessed it bug into the van if I allowed it?

Do hope it becomes a bit of a feature because this tends to catch you off guard enough to become highly memorable, such as that overly violent & impatient Banshee behaving as a Jinn.
