Strange tip. You seem to never have used the motion sensors before(or I've missed some very recent update), but the motion sensor setup height DOES matter, and will not catch ghosts of small height.
Unless we're talking about the same motion sensor, of course(the one that costs 100$)

I think it would be best to just place two in the same room but ensure that they are at different heights or just put them at just below mid level so if it is a child then you will pick it up guaranteed and anything bigger. This is what I've been doing sometimes and it works.

No need. There is no point placing motion sensors at the head or chest level at all, unless you're hunting your own teammates, or you've already seen the ghost and is able to suggest its height. Just don't place them near stairs, and try not to block its vision with clutter, so the ghost won't be able to "overstep" it.

The only positive part about placing motion sensors higher is that many maps have lower sides of walls blocked with things that won't allow you to set up a motion sensor(pianos, tables, shelves, cupboards, piles of trash), making it impossible to set it up otherwise.
