Playing as the ghost
It could be really fun if it could be added to custom games that you could play as the ghost vs your games. Am i the only one who thinks so?

EDIT:
I hope my little update on the post can make you see what i thought about XD

My thought/ point, is that you as ghost can do the same as the AI ghost we play against. LIke there is cooldown on when you can show up as a figure, then cooldown on apear as a full shown ghost.
Cooldown on when you can hunt and such.
When playing as a ghost, you cant choose what ghost you play. You just randomly get one and ofcourse with the strength and weakness from the ghost you play as.

Throwing/ moving objects;
Some ghost can throw more than others and some only move stuff. There should be a cooldown on that aswell. Just so the hunters, dont get confused with which ghost they are playing agienst.

When it come to spirit box and book:
When the ghost hunters/ players have placed the book in the room where the ghost/ you belong, there is a cooldown on when you can write in the book. You can choose from the moment the cd is down to click on the book and it automaticly writes in the book. You cant decide for youself what you write. More like, just when.

As for the spirit box.
WHen the ghost hunters/ players ask a guestion to the ghost/ you. You can some words, you can choose to say.
Example: A ghost hunter/ player ask: where are you?
Depends on your distance as ghost, you will have the opputunity to say: far, near, close or behind and so on.

So to round up my thoughts. They way we play agienst the ghost now, is the way we can play as the ghost.
I dont like the idea, that if it was 4 hunters vs ghost, that the ghost/ player can just hunt and kill asap.

As for the pvp:
If you wanted to join a random/ strangers lobby, there should be mentioned in the titel of the lobby that it vs player or AI.
Its up to yourself to join what lobby you want. I dont like the idea to be forced to play vs player instead of AI

playing as the ghost would be very interesting, but most likely would end up being people being hyper aggressive ghosts .A good implementation would be that if the ghost (player ) is more aggressive thats when they show more clues etc , along with something skill based to start hunting etc

It aint going to happen and good luck getting any decent content any point soon

Nah i don't think that would work. the ghost works now as it has parameters that the player needs to learn to manipulate and a lot of the time the ghost isn't in a position to be found until its time. a human player would just go full aggressive or would have mandatory delays between usable ghost actions that would make it frustrating to play.

While the objective of the game isn't the same for the living players, the game Damned has this as main feature. One person plays the monster (like a ghost) and can manifest every once in a while to kill the other players looking for a way to escape.

I would recommend you play that if this interests you but without a group of friends (5 people total max, 4 "survivors" and 1 monster) it's hard to do so as last times I checked there were no people playing publicly.

EDIT: Before anyone mentions "DbD", Damned has none of that RPG nonsense. Simple but pure survival experience.

Damned, that’s a name I haven’t heard in a long time. Honestly the biggest downside is it’s a bit tricky to get running due to poor optimization but it’s probs the one that got horror the most “right” in terms of asymmetrical games.

To be fair, I haven't checked in with that game in a long while and apparently the creator allowed a fan to take over the project. So I don't know if it's improved since then or would now be worthy of a recommendation.

As a custom gamemode? Maybe.
Just don't ask to change the entire flow of the game into a PvP aspect ;)

Ghost's AI in this game is the corner stone, so I'm pretty sure the dev is yet to show how complex that singleplayer/coop experience could be.

I wish fans would make that gamemode instead. I think this game will have more value, when developed towards coop.

That'd be pretty cool, I feel like it might be too easy for the ghost though, not sure how it'd be implemented

Nah I hate these cat and mouse games where a human player is the cat. Just keep this co-op and make ghost AI better.

No randoms enjoy being the cat for very long.

Yeah. It also, basically, ends up in some pretty toxic encounters + AFK and abuses.
Even though, AI is never perfect, it is often easy to close your eyes on some things, but when it is a player - it is more often ruining the immersion than helping it.

Cat and mouse type of games with real human players are never about immersion.

Another thread about this?

No.

Dev has already stated the game will be staying 4 player vs 1 AI and there will be no pvp aspect.

Yeah its a shame there wont be any content coming out for this
