If I use a soundboard or tts bot would the game be able to hear / consider it?
I can't speak very well or for very long because of medical reasons can the game/ ghost be able to recognise when I use a soundboard?

There are some who use soundboards already, though usually to troll teammates. It can register across the voice recognition, however you don't even need to do that if you really don't want to. I will say that there are lots of lobbies that may kick a player for not using their mic, but that is mostly if you play public lobbies and it's often based around the ability to coordinate the team. If you have friends to play with, join one of discords, or just play solo you should still be fine.

If you can not use voice recognition, some features may be difficult to use, like the ouija board, but when it comes to evidence (which is the main objective) you can still get by even without voice or a soundboard. If the game notices you aren't able to talk or your voice recognition is broken, the spirit box may still spit out a random response. Spirit box in general can be frustrating, especially without voice, so it is a handicap but you can still play.

I have a group of friends who gifted me the game, so I should be fine if your information is right, thanks!

Then yeah, you should be fine. even if the spirit box doesn't like to respond to you because of your mic situation, other teammates/friends can try for that evidence instead. I have played with people who don't have a mic at all and still won the round even with ghosts that do have spirit box as evidence. Although one of the rounds went incredibly poorly because we had the misfortune of getting the really fast ghost (revenant) on a big map, that was one specific occurence and not a general trend

Yes, it would consider your response. I've seen a guy doing exactly that, and having Spirit Box and the ghost to react to him properly. You might want to have several tts'es, just in case one might sound strange to the voice recognition, so you can experiment.

You can use Windows voice recog test thing to see, what exactly is being recognized.

I recommend this one:

I'm very talkactive myself, but I hate to repeat myself. Going through the house saying "Give us a sign" over and over again is really tedius. So I recorded a few phrases and spam them with a keypress. It works really good, even with the spirit box.

Imagine using the mic to do text to speech and have a software convert your 'speech' to ai speech, like how vtubers may use it.
