What questions does a ghost respond to?

Try saying "hello" as well. Also, insulting it and swearing makes it more aggressive. Not kidding.

Was watching some play earlier. The ghost did the heavy breath thing after being asked "Do you want a burger?" after other questions. It was probably the other questions. But it's like the ghost was going "You're a bad cook".

Its best to wait till you have a ghost that responds to the spirit box. You can see what kinds of questions it responds to. Sometimes if it can't understand all of your sentence, it will try and respond to part of what you've said. So if you've said something like "do you like f-cking?" It won't understand the first part but will understand the swear word and start to get angry.

There's a massive list somewhere kicking around the internet of most of the things you can say to the ghost. Its pretty impressive.

You can also try and find a Ouija board and see what it responds to on there. It won't always give an answer though as it has a 33% chance to just flicker the lights if it hears you, or tank your sanity.

About that list:
Many "hip" and "wanna-be-popular" mainstream websites quote most of those questions as "Spirit Box" questions. Why?
I expect that they've just "♥♥♥♥ themselves" and did what 99.9% of them usually do - copy-paste and quote things without being bothered to check if that is true, or if the source did any sense at all.
I think those questions are supposed to work without spirit box being nearby.

Ma another question is:
Have anyone double-checked if it is possible to affect ghosts with those requests? I know for sure that at least half of those keywords do not work, as there is no mechanics to utilize it, but some like "Open the door", "Turn on/off the light", "Knock on something", "Throw something" - do they actually increase possibility for the ghost to do things for you?
Have anyone made a video/guide/article on that?

Okay, thanks, I see now. I've actually read that file before, but totally missed that spot.

So, using those phrases, basically, does nothing specific but adding some to the activity multiplier, roll for a 1-in-8 chance to throw prop/touch door, or just kill power in the whole house.
It doesn't matter what I'm saying - it will always end up in the same scenario. So my best bet would be just choosing one, shortest and the most easily pronounced word, and repeating it once a 20 seconds.

If you're looking for a spirit box response, I've found that "Are you here?", "where are you?" & "how old are you?", seem to have a good response ratio, at least for me they do. If you're using the ouija board then my preferred questions are "what is your favourite room?", "where is your favourite room?" or "how old are you?".
Sometimes a shy ghost will take a long time to give a response, if any, but otherwise these particular questions seem to work well.
I've also found that when wanting a ghost to perform an interaction, the best phrase to use imho is simply "Do something".
