Questions about video camera?
1.) Can i see of a ghost wrote into the book if the camera also shows the book?
2.) Can i see via camera if a ghost walked through salt and does this accomlish the side quest?

It does, because you can set the EMF up to be visible on the camera, but doesn't because it can actually be really difficult to see exactly how it lights up, especially if camera drains out the light color again. You'll tell it's going off, won't always be able to tell if it's a 5 or just a 4. Plus EMF will only read interactions close to the reader, so you won't get a reading for that book you watched fly across the room that never got close to the reader.

You can also use it to monitor for fingerprints indirectly. Set at least one camera angle to be able to see the door, or in the hallway watching several nearby doors along their wander range. It doesn't actually show you the fingerprints on camera, or at least I've never found the magical angle to place the UV flashlight to see them through the camera, but you can make note of which surfaces to check for fingerprints when you do have to go back in. If lights are flickering, check the switch. If you see the door move, check the door. Also good to check windows but you can't hear the window slap over cameras so there's not a camera indication to check that.

Temps, spirit box, and readable EMF tend to need to be done by hand though. Can't see freezing breathe if no one's in the room (and they could see/announce it if they are), Can't hear or get responses to spirit box from the van, and can almost never properly read EMF through the camera.

You can see ghost writing in the book from the camera if the camera angle allows you to. Be aware ghosts can move the book on you, so even when you set it up visibly it may not stay that way

The optional to have a ghost walk through salt happens independently of witnessing it. If the ghost walks through it, you get that objective whether you saw it or not. As for what you can see when watching cams and the ghost walks through salt, in my experience, not a whole lot. You sort of can see it, but not very well and I'd highly recommend glowsticks. You won't see the footprints without some form of UV.

Sure you can. You may want to make your book stay at the wall and place a camera in front of it.
Still ghost can interact with it and throw it somewhere lol

make sure it's LOWER then the camera, and hope the ghost don't move it. since i dump my stuff inside and figure it out mostly via cams, (I enjoy playing "smart", minimal interaction time with ghost, suburban maps) (emf does not work properly like this by the way)
never had a issue, but i've not played in around a week.

If you face the ceiling and drop the ghost writing book a few metres in front of the camera it will land on its side making it very easy to see the writing in the van. Until the ghost decides to knock it over anyway lol

For the footprints bring an extra UV light and drop it so its cone is facing the salt, Glowsticks are even better between piles
