Voice Recognition and Chat not working After update
I use Voice Meeter Banana as an audio input for streaming among other things and had it working prior to the latest update.

Recently, my microphone no longer works in game and I've done everything in my power to try to get it working.

Does anyone else use the program and currently has it working within game? I'm wondering if I'm missing a crucial setting that I just can't seem to get. Like my microphone picks up normally everywhere else, and even works with the test mic options for steam, but not in game.

Can't really do much without this feature.

- FIX / TEMP FIX -

So after mucking around with my settings a bit, turns out the solution is simple.

Setting microphone in settings to the broadcaster seems to fix it, but I have to do that each time I restart the PC, unfortunately as it isn't my 'default' device as changing those would mess up Voice Meeter Banana.

Hopefully we'll have some more options and better workarounds for those of us using audio software.

Yeah, I thought so too, but that's not really the case for me.

I have a feeling there's something not lining up when it comes to what output is being picked up by the game. I'll try doing some updates with nvidia broadcaster and relaunching VMB, but for the most part, I'm stumped.

Like I said, I had it working before the update, just don't know what happened between then and now.

I found a fix, updated the thread to include what I had to do to get it working.

I have the same problem and I am a bit confused as to how you fixed it, would you mind doing it in steps for someone like me? :D

another fix people have found, including myself, is setting your in game microphone sensitivity to 0. no one could hear me speak until i did so.

Of course, here's the steps:

Right Click the sound Icon on your taskbar(bottom right) and open your sound settings

Underneath Input, choose your microphone(in my case, it'll be Nvidia Broadcast, as I use that to filter and clean up my sound)

If that doesn't fix your problem, make sure to set your steam voice input to the same thing

Steam's Voice input can be found by opening your friends page(bottom left icon on the steam launcher 'Friends & Chat')

Click the cogwheel underneath the X to close window and going to the voice setting list that's on the left

change your voice input device to the microphone/device that you use.

That's basically how I got mine working.

I also made sure to set my Voice Meeter to be my normal microphone, but I'm just running my microphone through nvidia broadcast so I'm using that as the final output.

sorry for my bad English but:
Your voice doesnt go to ALL SOUNDS, only for Discord or etc. For example I have 5 routes:
- A1 - My microphone
- A2 - Discord to MY HEADPHONES
- A3 - Discord to OBS
- B1 - ALL SOUNDS
- B2 - Sounds to OBS
You need to add route from A1(my microphone) to B1(All sounds). Go to your voicemeeter and set on your microphone route (my A1) button B1(All sounds).

And dont forget to change you input and output device at steam settings

Idk your sets in voicemeeter but I hope that awful answer will help... :)
