SLS camera? And a setup mode?
Would you be able to find a way to add an SLS(Structured Light Sensor) Camera to the game? This would make finding spirits so much more fun. Maybe also a mode where you go to the area in the day where there is no activity and you can set up cameras and stuff then after a set period of time (i.e. 10 mins) you then skip to the night and do it as normal but with the stuff you setup.

I believe the SLS camera is in the works. As for setup mode, there already technically is. On Amateur you get 5 minutes for setup before the ghost will hunt, Intermediate is 2 minutes, and Professional has no setup. I feel like the setup you are talking about would make the game less fun, and would lead to a lot of speed running the game. I'm not sure though.

true, however from my point of view it would make it more realistic as a person wouldnt just rock up to the place they're investigating and setup in the dark.
you could then potentially play the game in a way that you are more focused on monitoring than actually trying to get hunted. they could also make it optional at the start of the game so if you dont want to do a setup then you can play it another way

SLS camera is not coming anytime soon, but it is on the developer's backlog of low priority projects. There is an equal mount of high priority "To Do" projects, as well as projects currently in progress, and bugs getting hammered out. The developer is only one guy, so it may be months before any forward motion is made on this. It is on his radar, however.

I do understand that, but I still feel that would greatly decrease the time spent in a game. And what would you setup? You would have no clue where the ghost room is, and you could even then only really setup the cameras, but where would you even begin to set them up? You can't check anything in the game without a ghost presence.

Maybe in that sense you would have like the home owner tell you where they normally experience things. RNG probably. Then from those locations that would be where you can expect to setup monitors and cameras

I don't know, I don't see much benefit from it? I mean, if you just start the game, all you could do is set up cameras in the rooms that you were told the ghost could be in... and even at that, that would hurt solo players who would only get one video camera. And if you know the ghost room almost immediately, I feel like that would make it less of an investigation and more of a what kind of ghost is it. If it's a thing where you don't want to get hunted right away, just avoid professional.

True, but then thats just an idea of where the ghost COULD be. not where it might end up spawning

Then the setup would be irrelevant, IMO, that would have been a wasted 10 minutes. If it's not where the ghost actually spawns, then why have a setup? You would have to move around the cameras and stuff to the ghost room anyway. Idk, like I said I just don't think it would be a huge benefit to the game when there is already this kind of thing offered in the game. Now if there was further development that would warrant more benefits to something like this, then it'd be a great idea. But in the games current state, I'm not sure it would work.

And I love the creativity, don't get me wrong, I'm just not sure it would work where the game is right now.

I mean... it wasn't the worst idea? No need to rail on this person. Or if you're talking about me, I was just talking it out.

u know ghosts aren't real. you guys are using realism in a game when you're just looking for a way to make the game easy mode.

you can turn on lights already. you're the one choosing to setup in the dark.

u can carry more items in real life? you can go to house during the day in real life?

Yes however the fact that ghosts are real or not is down to personal opinion. So keep that outta this discussion please, but yes the game may not be quite at the right stage for something like this to be effective

Whether ghosts are real or not is irrelevant, we understand it's a game, but sometimes realism can add to the overall feel of the game. And while you can turn lights on they do turn off, or get turned of and you can blow the breaker. It's a game, we know that... we aren't dumb.

naw naw. u guys want stuff added to make the game easier. if you wanted realism then add eating food, drinking water, going to the bathroom, paying for gas each trip, etc.
