Unfortunately no there isn't. However, having it VC only adds to the atmosphere to the spooks.

A lot of the mechanics in game are actually tied to having a microphone so it would be kind of hard to play without talking

the game cant really be played without a mic to use the spirit and the Ouija board, its also needed to speak with the ghost to anger it and get it to do stuff, plus its better to hear in game mics instead of discord ones since it kinda ruins emersion

You don't need to get on discord to play the game. It has built in voice chat: Proximity Chat so you can hear people you are close too within the game, and Walkie Talkies so that you can hear people that are further away.
