How to get ghost to make dirty water?

Dirty water has been the hardest objective to complete for my group (probably even more difficult than crucifix). We've tried standing in the bathroom in the dark, saying its name over and over for minutes and it never turns on the sink. Really the only time we get sink is if we are exploring or gathering evidence, and randomly hear the faucet running. Any sekrit strats to get it to make dirty water?

Nope. Completely random basically, there is no special command to make it turn on the sink.
If you get it, good for you, if not then don't bother.

My crew don't even bother unless the ghost room has a sink or is next to one. How do you struggle with crucifix?! Thats one of the easiest objectives

You can try removing all the items from the area. The less items around, the less things there are to interact with, which means the more likely it is to interact with the sink. It is still random if it will interact with the sink, but it does seem to improve your odds.

I often wondered if standing next to a sink with a ghost type that teleports or stalks you would yield dirty water but I keep forgetting to try it.

Just to add to this - It also depends on what kind of ghost you are dealing with and how close the ghost room is to the nearest bathroom.

Ghosts can interact a little bit with you across the whole level but if its too far away, its pretty minimal in their interactions. Most you get is a teleported item from the level dropped somewhere near you if you are far away.

If you are within a room or two of the ghost room, you MIGHT get the dirty sink if you've removed every other item well away from the ghost room or placed them outside the house. You also have to be standing near the sink as it causes the ghost to interact with things around you more like the doors and light switches.

But as its so finicky and you risk getting hunted too much due to needing to be low on sanity and making the ghost angry with you, its just not worth it. Awesome if you get it, no big deal if you don't. Its only worth a small amount of money anyway so w/e.
