Oculus Quest 2
All, I'm purchasing my first VR set today - quest 2. Few questions, will I have to buy the game again for the VR mode? Is it going to be available in quest 2?

Quest 2 at the moment would be via the Link cable or Virtual Desktop. Probably best via Link

Hiya!,
I pre-ordered an Oculus Quest 2 also! I have been playing with an Oculus Quest 1st gen using Virtual Desktop for a tether-less experience. It works great! I have a 5ghz wireless router. Also my desktop isn't top notch either. i7 7th gen, and a 1080ti. Good luck!

I tried playing Phasmophobia with oculus quest 2, through virtual desktop, but I can only see a screen and have not been able to interact with that screen either. Not sure if it is the game not supporting oculus quest 2, or the VR connection which is not working.

With the Quest Link cable, it should be possible to play any VR game. Without it, maybe eventually. It's on the list of things that the dev is looking into. As others mentioned though, virtual desktop is a possibility too.

Playing with a Quest 2 via virtual desktop as well, no issues at all and it's an amazing experience.

Does the normal Oculus Quest work with the quest link? I have tried launching steam vr using the headset but it just gives me a keyboard and shows a window of the game. (A virtual keyboard shown in the headset)

Pretty sure the Link cable was designed for the original Quest to begin with. I don't think they changed the cable or anything in between versions.

Thanks!
Virtual desktop is the best way to go as long as you have a decent router. also you dont need the link cable for $80, i have one for $20 - 10ft 2.8 gbs
