its probably from other people that play without headphones that send feedback to you.

I'm not sure if this is exactly what you have happening, but, from what I've experienced this occurs when you're playing with somebody who has disabled the "local push to talk" option in their settings. It acts as if their mic is always open in game, so when you are talking and close to them, you're hearing yourself through them. I could be wrong, but I tested this with a friend and when I moved farther away from him, the 2nd voice from myself faded until I was far enough away and I could no longer hear myself.

Thats definately what it is, i have a friend i talk to on discord where this exact thing happens until he plugs in his headphones.

This happens even when the other player has headphones on and push to talk enabled.

you only hear yourself if the other person doesnt have headphones (so your voice picks up on their mic) and if their push to talk is off.

The person I experienced this with did have "local push to talk" disabled, but they were still using headphones.

could be that their headphones do a bad job cancelling sounds, like they need to replace their cushions if they have those type of headphones, or their volume is way too loud to the point where it leaks their audio. or both, it could easily be both.

bullsh****---i play with a fried via internet and he does hear himself doubled EVEN both of us are playing with a headset. and i can hear myself through HIS ingameavatar, even he has his headsetspeaker muted. so there MUST be a loop through ingame buggs

When playing with a friend over Discord, we also found that we were hearing us doubled.

What helped was going into the pause menu, Audio, and setting the bar next to the friend to zero. Then everything worked as intended.

That's because you were trying to use audio channels from both in-game chat and Discord chat -- it's not a bug with the game. As you said, setting audio from one or another platform will eliminate the double-audio effect.

Agreed, when we play we quit the discord and play using the walkie talkies because it feels more immersive
