build your own map
do like halo reach did you was able to build your own map this would keep the game fresh enough to keep player count up and not be in base 20k that i see yes this would take alot of time but this is better then having people bored build your own map i do mean your own just give us the parts that we need and this game will be much more fun for us people who put over 100 hours plus after this point this game gets stale with friends even

It would be nice if you can make your own map in this game. Also I am Halo fan and making maps or gamemodes is great experience in Halo games so like I said, it would be an amazing feature in Phasmophobia.

Would be easy if it was something like Source engine, there are already tools. The dev would have to make some for us to use. It will make the replay value much better though

It would take a while to develop, the AI would have to know how to traverse though custom environments.

That would be fairly simple I would think with colliders and/or objects that block movement.

Or just make it to where every ghost is a Wraith. :summer2019cockatiel:

To be honest, the map building in halo reach is pretty bad

YES PLEASE! but no do NOT make it like halo reach. Simply give us some assets/guides/rules and etc.. and let us use unity to make maps and upload them to workshop. I think it should be a voting system similar to rust.

Problem is that it would only be with the assets he purchased from the unity store.

I agree. There are already many nice ideas. But you should distinguish between pure map creation/level design and a completely functional map (with possible ghost spawn points, pathfinding, logic, etc.). So if you create only a map/level design the rest remains with the developer to implement this.

The developer uses the Unity Engine. There are already tools, but in most cases you have to buy them. Creating your own takes time and requires the appropriate know-how. But I understand your thought behind it.

As Tyler says, these are assets from the Unity Store. I also think that this is a single license and therefore it cannot be shared with people who work outside the Kinetic Games company.

To make a long story short: Even if the ideas always sound so simple, most of them are not.

Community: We'll build maps for you!

Dev: Nah, I'll just purchase assets instead.

I agree with you in part. Not every community content is useful. This may be because the will is there, but the right implementation is missing or completely exaggerated. But with large communities you can see that there is really practical and beautiful content. And Phasmophobia undoubtedly has a large community. I think apart from those who are trolls or show childish coolness, there is certainly one or the other player who can create level designs that are just as good. :)
