I have done the tests now, and definitely holding a candle in your hand in a dark environment keeps your sanity intact in the same way that you would be in a lighted environment. Obviously the candle needs to be lit.
- Is a valid source of light, compared to flashlights. Standing near the candle greatly reduces sanity degradation.
- Never blink during hunt.
Cons of candle:
- It is only considered a valid source of light, when it is not lying on the ground. You need to have it standing on the ground, or standing/lying on any elevated surface(tables, chairs, beds) or have it in your hands to make it work.
- Never blink during hunt, so cannot be used to tell if hunt is going on.
- Limited work time(2.5 to 5 minutes).
- Some ghosts hate candles and will try to put it out, so, having a lighter when waiting for that ghost to appear is a must.
Thanks Siege
