Give ME a sign or give US a sign?

Ok, probably a stupid question but this has been bugging me for a while now:
Every youtuber I watch playing this game and many people I meet in-game use the phrase "Give me a sign" or "Can you give me a sign?" in order to get the ghost to do something.

However, pretty much all the online guides only list "Give us a sign" as a key phrase and even the game uses it in the voice test option under audio settings.

It feels a bit weird though to use "us" when you are solo-ing but I also don't wanna run around like an idiot using a phrase that doesn't really work in this game. Unfortunately, there is no real way to test it due to the random nature of the ghosts (which is a good thing) so I was wondering if anyone can verify that BOTH phrases actually work.

"Give me a sign" works as well. I use it all the time.

I tend to use "give us a sign" out of habit since I don't really solo much. "Give me a sign" should work just as well though. The speech recognition can be pretty generous interpreting what you say, even if it doesn't always get it right (Like getting the spirit box response "Old" to "where are you? because somehow it heard it as "how old are you?"). As long as it sounds similar to a given trigger, it usually registers.
