[SOLVED] I can talk but not to the spirit box

SOLVED: I fixed it!
I had the game on run as admin. It didn't like it. I just made it run normal and it started hearing me again.

Hi there. I can speak ingame to my friends but the mic test in the menu says it cannot hear me.
I tried to speak to a spirit box too (a friend was talking to it just fine) but I couldn't.

What should I do? There is no problem with my mic since the V and B buttons work and people can hear me. I just can't use the spirit box.

Is there a fix? I tried all the suggestions on the pinned post.

you have to install and enable the speech recognition in windows. And select a language for it.

That is all set up and working.

I used to be able to use the spirt box but its stopped working since halloween

What language pack are you using? Make sure the keyboard language in the lower right corner of your windows bar is set to the exact same language of the system language pack. Per example, if you're using US language pack, make sure the keyboard language in Windows is set to ENG.

I use the UK packs, both are the same.
I have that option unmaked also.
It's strange as used to work perfectly fine before but I haven't been able to in a couple of weeks.

I put run as admin on a few weeks ago to see if it would run the game faster. It didn't. I just forgot to turn it back off again. Not on steam but the actual game.

Never follow this logic. Admin mode does not give you more performance nor faster speed.

• There are some utilities on Steam that require administrative privileges, however these automatically request the privileges as required on launch so you absolutely don't need to add that extra click.
  
  In summary, it unlocks permissions, not performance.

Every time I have ever had a speed issue all I get are replies telling me to run as admin. You hear it so many times you start thinking its true :'D
