@Skrif there is one ghost room--they can roam.
I usually go running around getting pictures of the voodoo dolls, finding the bone, ouji board while constantly saying " ghost name give me a sign" till I hear something being thrown, door being opened, any sign. I have my EMF right there to confirm location.
These DO NOT confirm the room its happening in IS the ghost's room, heck the board itself only gives the ghost's current location not its room so if you're getting a room from the board that's the ghost's current location, the only way to 100% sure find the ghost's room is to look for Ghost Orbs on the cameras as these are tied to the room even if the ghost itself roams around.
No duh.
OP asked for help to FIND not confirm it is the room. We gave good starting items to help with that. Not to mention not every ghost has orbs.
Geez calm down and read the OP post again.
Thanks for the comment, I like the way you start, getting photos for money at the start rather than later, and the emf to confirm what you hear and see.
I’d like to know your thoughts on the thermometer and the parabolic microphone as entry equipment if you could let me know.
Thanks for the confirmation about the ghost rooms, i was just looking for help with finding the ghost room. However, would there be another way to absolutely confirm the ghost room without orbs?
1.Notice low temperatures or freezing.
2.Hit a constant emf reading.
3.Locate it via the sound sensor or parabolic and search the area.
4.Find fingerprint only on the specific door/switch/window.
5.Close all doors and the ghost opens one specific (needs to be triggered)
6.Locate the ghost orb with the videocamera while sweeping through rooms.
7.Find open light in a room (after general circuit is On) or objects dropped on the ground.
Make sure that you double check with more than 1 equipment tools,
so you are certain of the location/spawn point.
My first 3 to go items are always Flashlight,Glowstick,Photo Camera.
Flashlight for obvious reasons,Glowstick to keep sanity high and just in case i bump into any fingerprints,Camera to locate the bone.
(first thing i do is open the general circuit, then photograph bone, later switch to thermometer or any equipment depending of what signs i got)
Second choice is the spirit box, since you need to do it in the dark. So I like to try to get that out of the way quickly. Also if you are playing professional the power will be off anyway, so might as well ask it questions.
Third is the UV light. Usually better in team games since people leave a lot of doors open, then you hear the ghost touch a door but are not sure which, so you just check for fingerprints.
Slot 1 - Take Strong flashlight OR Videocamera with nightvision OR UV flashlight.
Slot 2 - Take EMF
Slot 3 - Take Paramic OR Photocamera OR Spirit box OR Thermometer.
Now, tips on each item:
Strong flashlight - nice neutral item
Videocamera - has night vision that allows you to see and navigate in the dark, and is also an evidence item for Ghost Orbs.
UV flashlight - can be used to replace regular flashlight to get an ability to find Fingerprints, but be aware of shorter reach and lower level of brightness.
EMF - allows you to pinpoint the spot of activity, and get the EMF 5 evidence.
Paramic - allows you to find silent and shy ghosts across bigger maps. The ghost "talking" through it is also a nice feature to discover the ghost's presense.
Photocamera - Some ghosts might like to appear at the very beginning of the game, so you are ready for the ghost photo. You are also capable of getting Fingerprints evidence off doors, lightswitches and windows.
Spirit box - An evidence item that helps discovering the ghost's presense, while also triggering the ghost's activity(not the spirit box itself. You trigger the ghost activity by talking).
Thermometer - On smaller maps, at Easy and Medium difficulties, thermo is a must. If you have a habit of turning on the breaker, then you can also use it on Professional difficulty. You can find the "ghost's trails" with it.
The actual ghost room matters surprisingly little for the game. What you want to look for the most is the ghosts physical location and where it passes by frequently. The ghost can roam around quite a lot making the actual ghost room kind of irrelevant in most cases.
The only times where the actual ghost room does matter is with the ghost orb evidence, since they will only appear in that ghost room, or the freezing temperature evidence since that's where they most likely occur, although it can get to freezing anywhere if the ghost is there for long enough.
Since the ghost usually hangs around in it's ghost room you get the highest chance of interactions there, but particularely roaming ghosts can be all over the place and may not be inside the ghost room that often.
I recommend placing evidence items around doorways the ghost seems to pass frequently if you have a hard time finding where the ghost is. That way you'll have the highest chance of interactions without a need to find the actual ghost room.
For orbs I recommend you not only check the room where the ghost seems to be the most, but all other surrounding rooms as well, since the ghost can roam quite a lot it may not even be in it's ghost room a lot of the time.
For item recommendations I only really recommend the photo camera as a first item since full photo rewards are worth nearly half of the total money. You'll also avoid situations where the ghost does tons of ghost events and appearances but you don't have a cam for a photo and when you finally do get one you never see the ghost again.
If you are a more advanced player you can omit the flashlight entirely and instead bring a video cam for visibility and potential ghost orbs.
