“Witnessing a ghost event” objective
Does anybody know exactly what is considered a ghost event? There are times when I’ve witnessed paranormal activities such as objects being thrown, lights being turned on/off, I even tried taking a photo of the ghost whenever they spawn in front of us and the objective still hasn’t been completed.

im not entirely sure, but I suppose you finish that task only, when a "hunting"-phase starts. Flickering lights, Heartbeat etc.

Odd. I played my first few hours last night and we seemed to tick it off as soon as the lights cut out the first time

If you get a situation where your character starts hallucinating (in one of the farmhouses, the room with the heater can suddenly catch fire from the heater after the power has gone out, then the flames will disappear) that counts as a ghost event, apparently

Hunting event and witnessing a ghost event are different from another. If it's in a hunting phase(flashlight/lights flickering) totally ready to hunt and murder you its not a ghosting event.

Ghost events are them spooking you, showing themselves but not attacking just yet. (No flicker) Also make sure multiple people witness it.

There are plenty of times witnessing the ghost without them attacking. Or they whisper in your ear or scream out. It’s scarier when your on higher difficulties. Played with one of my friends last night who is a chick and she would scream out on mic. Cracked me up. I would say to the ghost: “Come to Daddy” and that got the ghost revved up. Was funny as heck.

I have little idea what counts as a ghost event, but if you have people in the room saying the ghost's name, eventually the objective will check off in the truck. Have one guy in the truck actually looking at the objective to see when it is done. Last time I played the ghost slammed a door and appeared and that counted.

Just gotta make sure that if the ghost only responds if your alone to coordinate that with your team mates. Just keep an eye on the objectives and description. If your sanity gets too low and you don’t have sanity pills, to stay in the truck and be the look out person. I always bring 4 sanity pills and will let my team mates know to head back and take some. If your playing on the High School map make sure you keep the lights on in the hallways to keep your sanity up. If you go in a room there turn them on and then back off when you leave. Sanity is your life savior.

Ghost Events are generally things that aren't the ghost themselves revealing itself in person. The ghost whispering to you, the ghost knocking something over that you or someone actually witnessed (not in total darkness). Maybe you heard a telephone ring right in front of you. Or, a cell phone started to ring in front of you. The microwave started to beep. The door started to open right in front of you as you were watching it. The light turned off as you were watching the switch.

These are usually what qualify as ghost events.

I've never seen that happen... amazing. I find out things I didn't even think the ghosts could do like yesterday the ghost made a teddybear dissapear from a crib. I've seen one turn on the TV which I wasn't sure could happen... I've heard the phone, the car, and the radio turn on but never the TV.

Not sure what a ghost event is but apparently taking a picture of your friend being strangled by the ghost isn't it. Some of these events are redundant, like, we have a picture of the ghost, fingerprint evidence, and a book with surprisingly well drawn satanic imagery in it, but we didn't get a pic of dirty water in a sink so only 10 dallas for us I guess.

To quote John Wolfe after his teammate died:
"We uh... I feel like we just witnessed a ghost event though"

As far as I know, hunting is not a ghost event. The ghost appearing normally or interacting with the environment around you (like slamming a door) usually fulfills the objective.

I had a run where the only thing the ghost did was turn the breaker box off and I got the objective, so I think a flipped (not overloaded) breaker counts.

Other than that, I think there's a door closing and light switching off simultaneously (fingerprints won't show up if applicable), ghost speaking or hissing sound, and possibly a ghost manifestation but that might be intermittent. BTW was the ghost manifestation a shadow or a full entity?
