Oni moving through Doors

I had an Oni move through a closed door and killed me. Aren't only Wraiths supposed to be able to do that?

wraiths are the only known ghost to fly, and have been known to walk through walls. it could be a bug? Oni ability allows it to move things at an alarmingly fast speed

soooo no not really, the Strength of the Wraith is that it doesn't show footprints when it walks through Salt because "it floats". I think that top part is just a "Fluff" of the ghost.

Doors need to click to count as being closed while hunting.

All ghosts can currently move through doors if they can hear you in the room.

All ghosts can reach though walls and doors if you are right against them with the ghost on the other side.

It looked like it just wandered through the door then beelined for me. I was quiet, didn't move, and had my UV Light off. I had another guy with me that experienced the same thing.

Door may not have closed completely. May have been at 0 sanity. Or someone could have made noise; even if you are not holding down a talk button, any noise that might be picked up by your microphone can be heard by the ghost (including the ghost's footsteps if using speakers and microphone).

Ghosts can see through standard doors. They have the same "vision" dead players have and players don't see regular doors. Just closet and locker doors. That's why when you watch most streamers that have been playing for a while, they not only close the door, they usually turn the corner and make sure they're not in line of sight of the door should a ghost go walking by.

Also, the ghosts hearing you through your mic even if you aren't keying up I believe is a bug as that should only be the case if using VOX mode and not PTT.

There are other ghosts that can go through doors, it depends on your level of sanity and how much noise you make. I've seen several others go through doors, it doesn't automatically mean wraith

I have said this in other threads.

I believe if you hide near where the spawn point, there are other "points" where the ghost can begin a haunt. If you hide in one of those rooms where a spawn is possible, they will get you.

I find this rather confusing. If ghosts can see through doors and move through them similar to the dead players, I'd imagine there would have been more instances where they would have killed me considering I usually hide in bathrooms and other smaller rooms with limited space to move in. A teammate said that he once had a ghost knocking on the closed door of the room he was hiding in while it was in it's hunting mode. So ghosts in hunting mode can interact with doors to a certain degree and not outright ignore them altogether.

Unless the Dev themselves state otherwise, I'm assuming this is just a bug that can occur.

This has actually happened to me on mUltiple occasions, with every other ghost that I can think of.
I'm level 170 at the moment and at the moment 2/3 games I've played tonight, (not to even mention the countless games I've played before, in the past couple weeks) I've either died or watched someone else die through a closed door, and it not be a wraith. The journal says only a wraith can walk through closed doors, but a demon has come up through the floor and killed someone, a revenant has walked through a door to kill me, an Oni has walked through a door to kill someone next to me..... Weeks before this started happening, it was the biggest sign for it to be a wraith, and some of us would have communication other than the game or even witnessed it, so I wonder if they're doing it on purpose for us to work harder for this.
But it's extremely frustrating when I've had this experience and now I'm completely out of money, due to me helping other players getting to know the game.

ALL ghosts can walk right THROUGH closed doors. They are ghosts after all, remember? But NOT all ghost types can SEE though doors. Furthermore, NO ghost can hear you during a hunt. Be it either your flashlight clicking on and off, or your voice. THEY DON'T REACT TO NOISE DURING A HUNT. At least not yet. But the game dev will change this soon.

Only wraiths can float, and they can pass through walls and floors. Be very afraid of wraiths!
