VR allows you to use a flashlight on your hip, giving you access to 4 items instead of the non-vr limit of 3.

How? I can pickup 2 and that was all, i dont understand how you can add them to your inventory xD

If you're playing VR check your hips, you'll see a circle where you can place two items.

About the topic, VR is not mandatory and you can play without it, but VR is highly recommended.
