Possible False Evidence?

So my friends and I were in a investigation. We clearly got EMF Level 5, Ghost Orb, and Freezing Temperatures. The journal only matched with a Phantom. However, after finishing the remaining objectives and returning back to the lobby, the game said that the ghost was a Mare which the evidence for those are Spirit Box, Ghost Orb, and Freezing Temperatures.
We tried to Spirit Box for a good minute or so and got nothing. So I'm curious, is this an Early Access bug or can the ghosts sometimes give false evidence?

Do you remember if this ghost was responding to everyone or those alone? Also were the lights off and the right phrases said when using the spirit box?

I've played over 100 hours on this game, and the most common mistake people make is mistaking EMF 4 for 5. Its not a bug, i litterally see this all the time. Pay attention and make sure you have the right evidence in your book. double check multiple times. Also for spirit box, if it says ALONE, only one person in the house and make sure you are in the right room otherwise you will get "nothing detected". Always make sure you are in the actual haunted room. I've not once encountered false evidence

Well that makes sense but it just happened again. We managed to knock this one down to Wraith or Banshee. Out of the 2 pieces of evidence needed to pinpoint which one, Spirit Box or EMF 5, the ghost was haunting a bathroom. I stood in the bathroom, lights off, with both my friends out in the truck. After a minute and nothing, I swapped with my friend who was carrying the EMF. Once he went into the bathroom, the door slammed shut, he got EMF 5, ghost appeared in front of him. We were watching the cameras from the truck. So we marked Banshee and Contract said it was Wraith.

My god 100 hours? What level are you? Just curious lol. Im 50 at 27 hours. Is there a level cap?

I've had it a few times with the spirit box where it can take minutes to get a response, I'm usually the go-to of my group to use the spirit box so I always chest the board for "responds to everyone" or "responds to those who are alone".

It's taking up to 4 minutes max to actually get a the ghost to say even one word to me such as "close" in which case I bolt

i saw someone with lvl 600 today...
i never got a false evidence, but sometimes people are confused. some people say "freezing temperature" when it's 5 °C (but it has to be below 0)
same with the spiritbox they hear the random ghostsound (aaaaahhhhh) and they think it's the box.
and many people think emf 3-4 ist emf 5 which is wrong.

Never got false evidence, I think someone mistook EMF 4 for EMF 5. Look for the bright red light.

Which is one reason why in my groups that I create in public match I tell them at the beginning I’m grabbing EMF or Spirit Box/UV. I can distinguish between EMF 4 and 5. Questions on Spirit Box that I get responses from are: How old are you?, Where Are you?, What do you want? 9 times out of 10 I get a response with those phrases if it’s the right ghost.

LOL. I know what you mean. I'm only level 18. I haven't tried Professional difficulty yet but might try it today if I get time. Could be pretty intense. I haven't really had any jump scares so far.

Just to clear up this confusion a bit, in the training it explains that all five lights have to be on for it to be an EMF level 5 reading, anything below isn't that piece of evidence, of course it doesn't help that EMF readers seem intentionally designed to confuse the user with what each level represents on it.

Yeah. On a side note Wraith is one of the more confusing Ghosts to play against. He made his home in the downstairs bedroom. I got the finger prints and spirit box but that was it. No freezing temperatures in the bedroom that he was in. I think the sucker was floating from room to room. We set up cameras in the bedroom and in the hallway going into the bedroom so no Ghost Orbs. We finally found low temperature heading back out to the truck but you couldn't see your breath. Its trial and error I guess.
