No it isn’t. It just looks faster because you’re lower to the ground so it seems to be moving faster but it isn’t faster than sprint without crouching (people had the same misconception about smaller races seeming faster in pretty much any MMO with races of different heights).
I disagree. Even if you react slower, the 5 or so seconds you get to run and hide means you will put more distance between you and the ghost before it starts hunting.
People are going to keep complaining about the running speed, it genuinely needs to be tweaked. There is indeed that fear, but also that annoyance of tediousness that needs to be polished. The game needs to be genuinely scary, yes.... but remove any tedious mechanics by adding 'quality of life' additions into the game instead.
If you're close to the ghost it all comes down to 'flight or fight' responses so it'll balance out here. Make something genuinely spooky and people will panic, something people have been doing already.
I have no proof, but it feels like I walk a little bit faster in beta since a few days .

A small amount of speed more is okay, but the immersion would be damaged if a player can run like Flash.
Comparing Ghosthunting with RL is a littlebit odd, I know ^^, but in RL you dont/cant run like hell all the time.

Maybe have somethere where outside of the house you can move super fast but once inside you slow down? Or actually let the sprint button increase your movement by a bit. Since IMO it's still really slow.
True, but in real life you don't have a set amount of time before the ghost starts hunting xD
The Tension is double sided. One one hand you have the slow walk pace causing fear. But can you imagine the panic in small confines if you and the ghost had twice the movement speed. There is less time to react and process information
If I can just Usain Bolt through the house, I dont have to think about safe routes or whatever, it kills the atmosphere IMO.
