how annoying is Patty Fleur?
Own the base game and loved it, one of the best games regarding triggering my rpg nerves.

Always wanted to own the definitive edition but never bought it over all those years.
And as I grow older I can't stand crazy over the top manga chars anymore, so I'm wondering how much of an nuisance is Patty Fleur?

She's annoying at first but she has decent character development.

Also, I didn't realize she was extra content. She feels like asuch a part of the story as most of the other characters. Although, she does come and go a lot more than most characters.

She is alright, I quite like her. Usually Tales characters are tolerable to me since they don't go overly manga style

but her costume is a little captain sailor moon, isn't it?

It's even worse when you hear her speak.

If she hadn't turned out to be a decent character by the end, she would have been a terrible idea.

Anyone else find Rita more annoying? I am only half way through the game as I write this so maybe she gets better later, but so far all her interactions she acts very ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and like a tsundere or something

Seems extremely likely. Put out the game with missing content (in the West as well), then put out the proper full version in Japan only later. Just the pirate ship with no boss in the 360 version was enough of a tell by itself. But it's also Namco, who are as bad as some American companies for behaviour like this.

Also, Patty is love... but I've only heard her JP voice which is great, especially the way she speaks using kind of an old man style (for reasons that become clear later). Can't speak to how bad she might be in the Western dub.

@Otomon - yeah, Rita is terrible. Unfortunately she's also incredibly powerful, especially for grade farming, so I normally end up using her regardless.

I liked Rita.

She's perpetually annoyed but stops just short of being a b-word. At least, I thought so.

That to me sounds more like they ran out of time/money. If they were really in the business of cutting content to resell later, they could have twirled their mustaches a lot harder by taking out the pirate ship too.

But hey, maybe I'm just too innocent for my own good.

The English dub makes her a lot more annoying than she is supposed to be, really.

Team Rita :praisesun: team all the crew.. well nearly all the crew, still didn't try the version with the pirate girl

I also can't stand a lot of common anime/manga trope characters, and dreaded every interaction with this character. But at a point she actually starts acting like a (somewhat) normal person and is far more tolerable. She is even the voice of reason a couple times.

Every time she speaks I want to throw her from the nearest ledge.

Guess she will say something snarky before you can throw her

For real though, when you meet Karol, you're like wow ok, the little kid trope is actually not too bad in this one, then you meet Party and it's like:

...oh.
