Does it say where to go next on the in-game map?
i know im probably not a good gamer by asking this but i get bored when i can't figure out where to go next in a game. It might be the reason i havn't gone back to Tales Of Symphonia yet

Most of the early game, the map is very linear. Allowing you to memorize it as you go. If you're getting lost, then there's not much to do to help.

iirc there is a synopsis in the menus which tell you where the next story point is

These games are very straight foward at the start, but it definitely opens up around the end of Act 1 and start of Act 2. Use a guide, even seasoned Tales Of players should definitely make use of a guide on this one. It's extremely unforgiving in its side quest lock outs.

That only depends on if you want to 100% the game, or at least complete every sidequest. If you're just playing for the story I don't think a guide is necessary.

Well some sidequest´s are important cause there are some what you only can continue or start when you on a certain point in the game.

Most sidequests are missable yes, but you don't have to complete them to continue with the game.

yes thats true but some sidequest are important for cool bonus events and fights though. But for only Story its not so hard cause the world map is good designed to see everything clear for my opinion.

The missable side quests have some of the best stuff in the game. Bla bla bla meteor shower!

It might also be worth noting that like most of the latter-day Tales Of games (read: just about all of the 3D entries) Vesperia has pretty solid New Game + offerings from what I remember, so you can always do what you missed in a subsequent run.

That said, it *IS* always nice getting it in one go - and as others have stated, some of the sidequest triggers can be pretty restrictive/short-lived, so barring talking to every NPC in all the potential locations available to you every time you encounter a plot point (I'm sure SOME of us have gone through that, if not with this game then with another), a Side Quest Guide would probably be a good idea to minimize potential tedium/frustration.

Yea but on my first playthrough i wont focus much on sidequest and the outfitquests cause it will be again 6 playthroughs :D
hmm one of the more important sidequessst iss for de haunted weapon that is the best weapon of all game more important that weapon can be usable in neww game + and they are more powerfull when you level up in ng+ so dont miss it for the secret dg that is an important help to beat final boss without dificulty
and for thos who whant a guide they are actualy one but for the eu version of xbox360 thisss ssite was in french but you can transslate it http://talesofvesperiafr.over-blog.com/tag/soluce%20complete/

AFAIR, Vesperia was the last Tales without the "what to do next" button.

I do not remember getting lost in Vesperia even after longer pauses. And if you still manage to get stuck, you have the Synopsis ingame, hints from NPCs or - worst case - walkthrous on the interwebs.
