Build a Service Module Quest
So I am slowly finding my way but there is not explanation on how to do some things. I don't mind this usually but now it's gotten me stuck.

I got into the area where I had to build the air lock. I got inside and started on the quest there. I've gotten stuck on the Build a service module.

Now, I had one service module but it was I guess large one. Not sure where the game wants me to build it. Does it want me to build it here?

When I get stuck I tend to take breaks and work on other things. Earlier on I went to the area w/ the asteroid guns and did the quest there to fire the cannon. I found the small service module there. Didn't finish exploring as I got excited and headed back to try and build the service module. Could not build it.

Is this the wrong one? I can't figure out what to do. If there is a base service module smaller than the small service module, I haven't found it yet.

Any help? What am I missing here?

The place where you built the airlock has the medium service module on the wall of one of the corridors. You need to build that one. I'd recommend building it somewhere between the electrical wreckage and the Knight Errant wreckage since it's central to travel between the two areas.

When you say electrical wreckage do you mean the place that I cut open? I found the rooms w/ some bots too. I've been to a lot of places but I'm not sure what the electrical wreckage looks like or where it is. I have been to the mayo place though. :) not sure what to make of that one.

The electrical wreckage is just past the destroyed cooling wreckage behind and to the right of the engineering shuttle at the beginning of chapter two. Once you build the medium service module you'll have to build an oxygen generator, power supply and research table inside. You can research the electrical spacesuit to safely explore the electrical area. You can use your dispenser to see what resources will be required to build the module and the inner components before you go to build it to save you from making trips back and forth to get stuff.

Cooling wreckage. If I remember right that is the thing that looks like a big round wreckage? Is that correct. I know I've got a quest to get in one of the structures around there. Got the soil tester too. :)

I did find the first engineering shuttle. I didn't even realize I'd started chapter 2.

Well heck why don't they just say start your base. Got it going. Thanks.

Cool, but if you want to build a larger base you'll need the large service module and the transportation module to build the space car and rocket vacuum bike. Good luck and have fun.

Got the rocket vacum bike. I built the med. I think I have the transportation mod. I'll have to look.

I just wish I had storage bins. I'm still hoping I'll find a blue print for that.

The closets don't hold that much for the amount of space they take up. You're better off making suitcases for storage. It's a bit messy, but you can hold a lot more resources.

I have been wondering about that.

I hated the 4 refined metal cost per suitcase and ended up with separate piles around my station of different materials.

You might also want to consider not wasting too much energy collecting resources to put in the Normandy. When you get the ship to jump to the next part of the game, all the suitcases you have on the floor get blown out the broken window and you're only left with whatever you had stored in the overhead compartment or on your person. I wasted countless hours collecting resources waiting for the endgame update. And to be fair, the game kind of warned me ahead of time that might happen. Hope I can save you some time.
