Beginner help and tasks

I'm about 3 hours in, got the basic 4 tools but I'm lost as to what to do next. There is a red "tasks" in the upper right of the screen, but in the journal there is nothing under the "tasks" tab. Nothing. Naturally it would really help if there were some direction. I'm to the point where I'm searching for balls of metal to make those disposable 40 sec air canisters just to go outside the ship's general range, but I'm running out.

Made it to the guy in the bed, scanned the big screen tv, the oxygen room south of the ship, and a little of the frozen area to the right. I did use all my current air tanks to make it to the reddish lead/paint area, but I dont have enough disposable tanks to get back so I have to reload a save. Is my game bugged?

Also I found a dead guy with a flashlight in chest pocket but I can't grab it. A "hand" icon shows up, but nothing happens. Then I read to use a condom on air tanks or something, but the only option for it is "drop."

Journal | Tasks is where you get a list of what to do. Though Ive only checked that just now. About 20hrs in. Generally I just explore to the range I am capable of.

I wouldnt use any disposable tanks. You will need them for something more semi-permanent. You should use the existing free oxygen to get to the areas you can and search them thoroughly as youve need to find more schematics and other items that will let you replicate the items you need to get further afield. I.e. you should search the areas nearer the cabin you are in.

I've been all around the ship. As I said, the only other oxygen room is south of the ship. Where is the the other nearest one I will have to break into?

No. From my 20h+ you wont find another oxygen room like that. There are other oxygen rich areas though. But not in the first area.

No there there are specific blueprints or objects to scan and update your encyclopedia of items to build. One is an upgrade to your oxygen tank. The other is a portable construct that will allow you to build deployable oxygen replenishment items that you can place strategically. I cant remember where they. They could be inside the oxygen room. I would start there as its quite logical. or search the forum for specific help.

do not waste materials on the oxy torches. explore better.
to the right and down from your starting shuttle, there's cooling gel area with toilets. around the second (further from shuttle) toilet you will find shawarma. this will give you blueprint for basic accelerator. craft that.
get condom from the pervert area (the bed, icon of handcuffs).
blueprint for single condom tank is unlocked by inspecting big oxygen tank that is behind and down from the starting shuttle. craft that. other condom location is mail post module to the back of the shuttle.
double condom tank is unlocked by inspecting a wall drawing in the kids corner which is directly in front and a bit downwards from starting shuttle. across tje empty space.
by now you will have all the basic equipment to venture on longer trips for exploration. you will have unlocked oxygen station which you should place on your way towards the paint area.
now you will have everything you need to proceed to the meeting area. alcohol protects from freezing. now you're on your own.

Naturally I have found the big condom south of the ship. Its a little up from the oxygen room. I can't interact with it. As usual, there's a hand icon that pops up, but can't do anything. I've already found two condoms, but there's no option to do anything with them other than drop.

touching the big condom tank must unlock the single tank. if not something's wrong with your game. verify game files from Steam.

That's what I'm thinking because I've been everywhere I could possibly go without being able to build the oxygen station. I even have the guy's eye that opened the safe. But no, I have no ability to craft anything with the condom.

Yea it was a glitched run. Started a new one and the first task was to fix the antenna. That never came up in the first game.
