Suitcases move too easily.
I only recently found the blueprint for the closet and before that, I've been using four stacked suitcases propped on a counter. Everything was fine with them until one day the suitcase I keep food in decided to go flying from the counter. It landed on the floor and because it has more in it than I can carry, I can't empty it to put it back.

Well, no big deal; it just fell on the floor next to the counter, right? Except the next time I was in my habitat and walked past it, the suitcase suddenly shot off like a kicked ball and flipped through the air, landing in a corridor far across the room. It's kind of ridiculous that they move around so easily yet cannot be readjusted without being completely emptied.

They are ridiculous. If you have OCD they're a nightmare - I had a four rows tall perfect pyramid of full cases sorted beautifully - the on loading a save they ping around like popcorn. Fecking infuriating.

first you could take items and drop them then pick the suitcase, second why would you put them on a counter, and last did you know that you can get 2 free suitcases and their blueprint form the beginning area where there are some cardboard boxes

yeah, I actually tried to use the round table to store suitcases on the table, but then one day, after I entered my base, all the suitcases and the table started to bounc around and were all over the place, pretty sure that can apply to any player crafted furniture, because from the looks of it, none of the furniture is a static object

it seems that the physics are on halt everytime you leave your base or equip the building tool. After you enter your base the physics kick back in and when two or more items touch they go flying through your base.

if you leave your base for too long, all dropped items will respawn still remembering what they were, thats why they bounce

So this problem hasn't been fixed yet?

I gave up decorating for this reason. Such a shame, given all the neat things you can find. Theres no point to any of the buildable shelfs/tables and such, because if two items touch, they will end up all over the place. So I ended up building a large habitat with nothing in it, and then spaced everything out on the floor. Looked like ♥♥♥♥. Such a shame. They really needed to implement a 'stuck' behavior if 'placed'.

Welcome to UnrealEngine(tm), wacky cartoon physics are their trademark. Enjoy your stay.

Anything that isn't nailed down will fly across your station sooner or later.
