At this point, there is a time delay before the boss explodes (dialogue leading up to it). Here's the thing, saving manually at the very start of the time delay, and then reloading that save, can cause a glitch (at least it did for me). Essentially, upon loading that manual save the boss bar will still display but in its shrunk state (it expands for console you interact with), the turrets will remain active, and the boss can't be killed. My only remedy was to load up the autosave and enter the boss battle from the beginning to overcome this. My theory is that the coded trigger for the boss being destroyed doesn't register if you load a save between the start and end of the timer for the boss explosion.
There are no markers. Rude.
