I assume having a suitcase blueprint is a way to improve inventory space... they would have done a container blueprint instead if it was meant to stay installed after filled
Being able to arbitrarily expand your inventory in that way (and in the first chapter of the game at that) would make the inventory limitation meaningless. Why not just give us a bigger inventory from the start?
No, i'd expect that the suitcase is simply a placeable container, nothing more.
Maybe that's just me...
Devs can answer...
I'd expect the suitcase to be a "movable" container, again, maybe I am wrong, but that sound...logic...normal...
I would have found far more logic that you can carry it full, but can't open it until installed in an secured area.
In this way, you can use it as a "container" in your cabin, but can't use it to upgrade your inventory as you reffer to.
In my opinion, the suitcase is here for later, when you will have to transfer inventory from the cabin to the space station you will build (a time where upgrading inventory will be a must).
Making it like it is now, it is just odd... as soon as I put a simple bottle of water in it, it can't move anymore ??
Make me unable to open it "outside" so I can't use it to store more item while spacing around, that's fine and logic.
I don't want to upgrade my inventory, but I don't want to have a suitcase that can't move around...
As far as i can tell you're trying to rationalize a way why the suitcase should be moveable because it is a suitcase. I don't think that's how this stuff works as far as survival games are concerned.
Again, other games have this too - take Subnautica for example: It also has a bag (Carry-all) that can only be moved/picked up when it's empty. It's simply a storage container. The suitcase in Breathedge is - as far as i can tell - exacterly the same, and why shouldn't it be? If your game requires the player to lug around lots of stuff from one base to another, it's not very good design to begin with. Why should you built a base in a place where you can't gather enough materials in the first place? Why should you have to transfer over more stuff than you could conceivable carry in one or two trips in your normal inventory?
Meh... we won't agree on this...
My point is : a suitcase is made for travel, it has been designed with a handle, and with space inside for storage.
Making a suitcase unmovable is a misuse. Call it a shelf, a drawer, or even a sideboard if you want (by you, I don't mean YOU), but I definitly can't accept the fact that we have a suitcase that can't carry anything...
And this will be my last try to point out this unlogic approach, until maybe a dev will answer if yes or no the suitcase will stay that way.
And btw; you are right, I totally assume to think that we may have to transfer things to our next station/location without any clues for it, and my suitcase is already filled with my grandpa pictures, his mug and a dead hamster... we are travelling in space...travel...suitcase...meh...remembering me something... did I told you about my opinion on how a suitcase is great for travel ?
The problem you are trying to construct simply doens't exist and if it did it would not be soved in the way you want it.
It's kind of ironic that the suitcase is the one thing that you make out as being "illogical" and ignore the whole setup of the game itself. As far as i am concerned it would be totally in-line with the game to make the suitcase not portable and prevent it from being picked up as long as there is stuff in it.
I've looked everywhere I can think of near the boxes and have yet to find a suitcase wedged in the wreckage. Where exactly is it? Do you have a pic or something?
Thanks!
