Alkali so scarce.
Am I missing something? Or does it seem like Alkali is just so limited. I've been looking around every asteroid within 600m, and I've only collectd about 20 of them for batteries and oxygen candles.

I found a couple veins in the rock... after exiting your craft hang a sharp right... then a slight right and head for the guy that got splashed with coolant. Behind that area is at least two rocks.
Some of them have ice in them.. .but look down and to the left when you get to them.
Three separate rocks have at least two each.

Also.. .you can exit your ship and hang two sharp left turns and go behind and you'll be facing one rock with at leaat two.. and a wire that has to be put out with the chicken (I think the wire has one in it).

Going further behind the ship off in the distance is two more asteroids loaded with them.

There is also some waaaay over by where the Safe is.. on a couple more asteroids.

Not sure if they respawn or not.

Rarely, you can break open those small moon-like asteroids floating.. and they can either give you nothing.. or ice, metal, and alkaki... but they take a lot of hits.

Yes indeed alkali is way too scarce. I had to search for it everywhere just to be able to craft one object I needed. The most annoying and boring time I had with the game.

I'm kind of stuck on this one. I think alkali is too scarce considering it is key to making batteries and first aid kits (through producing alcohol).

yup, same here. I think randomly respawning veins in different places like in Subnautica would serve this game well, alkali is way too limited but required for too many things starting from core tools (as batteries) and first aid. Now I can't find 4 alkali to build a car, have been looking for an hour, all previously discovered veins are just empty already

You're not swimming in it, but there's plenty if you spend time looking. That becomes much easier once you have the oxygen upgrades and the vehicle(s).

I have military oxygen tank with 275 seconds air reserve
I have Military jetpack with boost lasting like 40 seconds
I have rocket vacuum cleaner with 32m/s standard and 41m/s with boost
I have no problem in crossing great distances, but I haven't found alkali anywhere except behind the shuttle in the starting location and slightly forward of the second shuttle (on the way to the crashed ship where you had to repair airlock to enter). It's easier to find and smash radios and other devices for complete batteries than to find alkali vein.

There are lots of them randomly scattered around, but not that easy to spot. Also as you mentioned, many times batteries from radios and boxes are simpler to find, so try to limit your alkali usage when really needed. Oxygen is a non issue after the military tank and the vacuum cleaner, esp as you find 2-4 200 sec packs in many wrecks.

Where the hell are you looking? It's all over the asteroids (well 1 per usually), you use up the stuff closest to your base then move further afield.

You stumble upon it a lot when you don't need it, while progressing. And can't find it again when you're short on it xD Classic. At least it seems that way, I always ended up to find some again after a bit of struggle

you know, i'm trying to be as nice as can be....but you guys (the ones that keep complaing of the lack of alkali) just suck... try looking at the asteroid "rings" i believe i've found a few on some of them.
There's really plenty more than enought of it, if you don't missuse it that is.
Heck when chapter 2 started and i played throught it, at one poiint when i got the vaccum cleaner, i went back to homebase in chap 1 and hauled about 20 alkali from my storages. That's how plenty there's of it if you're not being idiotically wastefull...Or blind.

Yip. Alkali is hard to find.

They spawn from the breakable garbage balls all the time near the Knight;s Errant. Break up the three balls there every five minutes of so and you'll get a ton of alkali.

Has anyone found Alkali in Chapter 3? Can't find it anywhere.
Hirudora Mar 25, 2021 @ 9:52pm
i'm not sure what version that is, I play the latest i think?
If you keep going up ahead where the map wants you to go you will find more.
Make sure you take plenty of balloon station.
i the cave you find a space bike around to the right where there is a refuel station is.
