I found a knight that is stronger then Cataphracts!!

it is Templar Knight Cavalry.

When i was playing as Russia i didnt had them in the game. But i m playing with Greece now and i do have them I wonder what is triggers this aspect? Is it the religion? In both playthrougths I m conquering Acre early game to have a window to Jerusalem. Both of the game playing on Very Hard.

thanks, but as Russia you dont get and cant recruit Templar Knight Cavalry at all. I think it due to religion

if I remember correctly, there are restrictions by faction, religion and culture

The restrictions are heavily based on religion. The game won't let you take typical crusader units as non-catholic kingdoms (tuets, templars, etc)

wait you actually believed they where the strongest ? since you say i found stronger than . lol wasnt it obvious that the templar units are the strongest? or some other european knights from germany or the teutonic order? actually how can someone believe the russian stuff would be the strongest , doesnt everyone know that russian is weak ♥♥♥♥? (even tho most heavy cavalery of every part of the map even if different units got the same stats of dmg and all mostly ) the only exceptions of way stronger units are the templar units , pretty sure the teutonic knight stuff . and the crosbowmen from paris (even tho they are still weaker than the shielded crosbow men you can get from the province genua )

Cataphracts are Byzantine/Anatolian, not Russian and have the highest stats of all *freely recruitable* heavy cav, only exceeded by the religion-specific templar cav. You were thinking about Boyars who are in fact noticeably weaker.
