Paganism / Heidentum
Hey there!
Did someone find a way to convert from christianity, muslim etc to paganism? I know the game says its not possible if your kingdome once belong to "big ones". But may there is way anyway?^^' Except to start as a paganism kingdom of course.

Heyho!

Yeah i know :/ Hat ne Reihe wirtschaftlicher Nachtteile und alles.

The easy solution is to leave your heathen ways and submit to the enlightened authority of His holy church. Repent, sinners, REPENT!

Sorry, I left the byzantine mode on after quitting the game.

I have to agree that in its current state paganism is more of a nuisance to everyone else than a feature of its own.
What I have noticed is that paganism (unlike other religions) seems to spread by itself, as provinces now and again adopt paganism spontaneously (without any spy making a bribed cleric do it). If paganism was elevated to the same status as other religions this should be symmetrised as well: Either all religions have a chance to spread to neighbouring provinces, or none.

Hm I actually thought that all the times paganism spreads it’s the work of a spy/corrupt cleric.

Also pagan nations have pretty strong features - beliefs. Two of the best of them give 10% army strength and a ton of food.

In my experience the constellation
Spy bribes cleric - success - spy gets opportunity to make cleric spread paganism - success
is far too infrequent to explain the spreading rate of paganism. At least in my game almost all of eastern and northern Europe is actually pagan despite being ruled by Orthodox and Catholic factions.

I guess you’re right. What if paganism is entirely eradicated from the region - will the spread stop?
as long as there is a spread paganism in the world it wont stop. and since the ai nearly never converts their territory and leaves it pagan even tho they are not pagan, it will always annoyingly spread to your provinces at some time
