Capture Purple point

How the hell do i capture these purple points that looks like a shield?

Shields mean defend, sword means attack.

Ok, how to capture the points that have a sword? I go to the point, I hang around, no capture bar appears... can't seem to do anything... and then eventually I get killed.

The UI in the top right should tell you. Generally you need 3 members of your team to be within the cap point for it to begin capturing and the bar to start moving, unless of course there are more enemies there than there are people of your team.
