MG Bipods
Can we please fix these so the can deploy most places. The fact some windows are too high or low, a small mound on the ground etc prevents the bipods from being used is crazy. Add to the fact once you deploy them the game often negates your degree or axis of fire... it's so frustrating and lmiting for these weapons. Especially when, as son as you fire snipers etc zoom in on you real quick.

Thank You.

This is bullsh*t especially as logi squad.

One example, there's sandbags on the roof at the hotel (map below you'll recognize it), if you put a MG behind the sandbags on the roof, the MG can't shoot over it and if you are a rifleman behind said sandbags, you're still too f*cking low to shoot unless you're standing up exposing half your body, you can't kneel.

I can't put a MG in 90% of the windows because it's too low and hits the frame... I can't put an MG behind sandbags that are already in the map because the MG is too short. Why would the developers put sandbags on a specific location but have them higher than machine guns, even though they're in the perfect spot? I don't f*cking get it...

We can put MG's on rooftops in Training Camp that fit perfectly, the devs limit it in the regular matches of where the logis can build, f*ck creativity, let's be a cliche designer and prevent the playerbase of everything they could do.

I'm on fire right now. 1000% triggered.

This game will be popular for a week after the Arnhem update, that fire will die down in a week unless someone goes to their Discord and tell these stuck up Devs that they need to start listening to the forums.

This isn't anything that isn't being said on discord.

MG class in this game seems like an afterthought to the devs apparently. Weak zoom compared to rifle, deployment of MG's is horrible, just a complete mess, etc...They need to take a page out of Tripwire's book, the devs of RO2 who made MG's properly. I just refuse picking MG class lately as it is frustrating.

And the Bren machine gun aiming is so bad - 30% of view is obscured by magazine. Which is not such an issue in real life as we all have two eyes so when one eye view is obscured the other can provide enough vision to have clear view. Same with aiming with Lee-Enfield rifles - the aiming ring cover obscures view which would be totally neglected by having two eyes opened.

As someone who plays allot of the MG class, I totally agree with the original post. Trying to setup an MG in a house is just impossible and often when you find even a a bit of open ground to setup on your view is blocked by blades of grass a few inches in front of your face. MG bi-pod deployment really does need looking at.

Finding a good firing position can get pretty hard. That's why there's so many pictures of German soldiers firing MG's over one's shoulder in open fields.

Tip, if you find a spot where you cant put up the mg, make a screenshot of the spot, and the map and upload it to discord, thy already have been trying to fix some assets that have issues with mg's setting up.

Yes to fire over terrain or cover, or if they need to set up in a hurry. But if he lay down regardless of field of fire, could he deploy the bipod ?

@frechy56 i agree, would love to be able to engage the bipod on a crouched rifleman and engage with clear, slightly elevated line of sight

+ 1.

I stopped playing MG cuz it so broken game play.

And logistc should be able to PLACE/BUILD MG´s in ALL WINDOWS, balcony etc.
Build sandbags in windows.

While I agree MG can be frustrating I never fail to get lots of kills with it, I usually get more with a Bren than an MG.34/42. Its less feared so you dont attract as many grenades, flankers and smoke.
Its easier to hip fire and one shot tap and its really accurate (If you can see around the HUGE ammo mag lol ).

Deploying is a trick and I kinda like it. You are restricted by terrain so it forces you to plan your positioning. SO many times I deployed my Bipod in a field only to see nothing but short stunty grass in my face grrrr but hey that was probably very common. its better than a rifle as at least the Bipod elvates you a little. Bipods work a little better since release but yeah some windows, walls and barricades are buggy and its infuriating. Not enough to put me off playing it. Its still a very powerful kit once you learn how to get the best out of it and avoid poor Bipod deployment areas.

Yeah no one is saying MG's aren't good and able to net you allot of kills. It's the fact that so many areas of every map that should let you deploy there (windows for e.g as mentioned before) simply don't or they do, but like Aidee orginally said, the bi-pod bugs and you get only a few degrees of swivel.

P.S. "...Bipod in a field only to see nothing but short stunty grass in my face grrrr but hey that was probably very common."

In reality you would simply tear it up or crush it with your arm to move it out of your face. If it's in arms reach why could you not/would you not be able to? (I get that to do that in game would be pointlessly complex but there are simpler ways to solve it that would have same result).

It's possible in UE4 to do this, they are planning to add it to Squad, but it's still something that puts stress on the client and server side of the game, and seeing Squad also is still not having the best of performance on some maps, its something for down the road.
